Shakedown time for UKIP, get rid off the dross unlike the other parties who defend them to the hilt....or cover-up for them until after their dead.

Yep, like this "famous" Liberal......

Poor Nancy-boy

Nothing new then for the party of perverts, sexists and bombers is there.

Saying that though.....surprising that nothing is coming out from Brussels....

...they too honest or is their security damned tight?

Could have investigated him whilst he was alive or at least sidelined him and
put him out to pasture. Why did the Party not do any of this??? and the answer
can not be, "Because we knew nothing about it"....for you did!!

I'm surprised that the Libs haven't swapped over to Velcro......

...hmmn, probably not. They'll more than likely get stuck in the wrong positions.

Oh, dammit, they already are!

No one but me and the ballot box knows my politics and that's where it's staying.

Quite right too. I mean Lord Sutch would be proud of you, but you might lose a bit of street cred, so I entirely agree that you should keep it private. Good decision.

Opps EU, what are you up to? Trying to get people use ferries more?

Pilots asleep as plane flew on autopilot

..however, that's not the worry this is......

"He said the European Parliament was due to vote on Monday on new regulations that would "cut UK safety standards".

Balpa said the changes included:

allowing pilots to land an aircraft after being awake for 22 hours. They gotta be joking!

pilots flying on the longest-haul flights with only two crew rather than the three at present. Not joking but plain crazy

pilots being forced to work up to seven early starts in a row rather than the current three." debatable I suppose

I'd rather pilots let the computer land the plane as well. I've been on several planes that have landed in fog or other low-visibility conditions, where the computer has had to land the plane, and they've invariably been much better than when the human has landed it.

A pilot should still be present in case anything goes wrong, but the thought of a pilot snoozing while the computer flies the plane doesn't worry me in the slightest.

Nor me either Simon. You have to remember that Sirius just likes to be melodramatic at times to draw attention to himself. Must be boring sitting in a cab 9/24 with only 45 minutes tea break. driving hours

I'm looking forward to all these pictures of beaches he has promised, when the cheque clears.

Christ with fools like that in Westminister, no wonder we're screwed. Check that link out before commenting. Another stupid remark from a Lib-Dem. It is actually 45 minute break after every 4 and a half hours of driving At least get your facts right!

Also, go back and read your posts, what promises of what beaches? You were asked a question and answered miserably. Hmmn, useless at geography and now useless at reading. I'd rather be stuck in a "sleeper" cab than watch drones mutter all day about their pay not being up to scratch, boozing when they should be governing the country etc etc.

Edit: Another lesson this time maths (or should that be another reason to pull out of the EU?)

Your link was the official UK Driving Regulations, however what would occur if any driver did not opt out the the EU's Working Time Directive?

UK = maximum working week of 56 hours = 952 hours over the 17 week period of the WTD

Ooops

WTD states maximum of 48 = 816 over the 17 week WTD period

Oh dear, bit vague that UK document isn't it? Just like the foreign secretary.

WTD Regs

Edit 2: Oh and just to confuse the maths even more, that 56 hours maximum driving time is only that - driving time, not working time. For example, loading/unloading times, booking on & getting vehicle ready same for booking off.

Firstly I am not an HGV driver, and never have been, so my information necessarily comes from the Internet.

Secondly, this document GV262 is titled Rules on drivers’ hours and tachographs: goods vehicles in GB and Europe note the word "Europe". GV262 Therefore it is not just the UK regulations. The link takes you to page 18 of 54 Daily maximum hours which was the same link I posted. That clearly states that you cannot drive for more than 9 hours out of 24 including a 45 minute break, which is what I originally stated.

Another stupid remark from a Lib-Dem. It is actually 45 minute break after every 4 and a half hours of driving At least get your facts right!

You can mix and match various driving times and breaks, pages 19 & 20 give examples. Your quoted statement above implies that drivers can carry out unlimited 4 1/2 hour driving stints provided that they have a 45 minute break between each one. That is clearly not so. Either you don't know your own rules, or you are just being deliberately obtuse. I invite posters to read the rules and make their own minds up.

The Working Times Directive applies to all jobs, whether in an office or factory, or elsewhere, There are specific extra rules for driving which is what I referred to.

41 years with clean licenses tells me otherwise. It seems that whenever genuine reports are posted you fail to answer them yet when I make either a sarcastic or wry comment, we get the above types of post from yourself. Typical from a political muppet. You are aware from your private forum and here that over the years most of my comments regarding transport was, in the main, 2 man operation? Or have you just got a "selective memory"?

Perhaps you should stop doing that then?

was, in the main, 2 man operation?

Really? well well, must have missed that one then. Would your co-driver like to comment?

Suggest you re-read all your posts before making comments like that. Since when have you been a Mod here?

Ministers from ex-PM Silvio Berlusconi's party are resigning from Italy's shaky coalition government, a spokesman says.

You really are Taffy the Welsh troll. I'm not against this country or the EU. If both return to their orginal concepts we would not be in the position we are today.

Oops, I better buy more Coca Cola so that their ad costs increase

Maggie was right, chaity begins at home. Once a nation that is on a sure footing then and only then, should they assist less fortunate countries. Handing out other people's money while your own is a fiscal mess is senseless.

But unfortunately there are too many like you in parliament.

Time that got changed!
