Another reason why the EU is ineffective! ECB's Draghi "ready to act if needed" Well he acted & the Euro improved, then he had to open his mouth...euro then dropped drastically - who needs Market Sharks with fools like him in charge! "Puzzle all you like about what the ECB might be about to do next. We shouldn't forget to be surprised that it has taken so long to do even thisâ€" |

ECB's Draghi "ready to act if needed" "Inflation expectations in the euro area continue to be firmly anchored," he said. Anchored by what?...This geaser's a ruddy fool, high interest rates anchor inflation not low one's like 0.5%. If you've got low inflation then under these conditions it's because the economy has become deflationary due to people not spending so prices fall. "The cut in interest rates should contribute to support a recovery later in the year." If you truly saw recovery occurring later in the year then you'd have kept your interest rate set at 0.75% to off-set the expected early rise in inflation. The fact is, Draghi, you do not see events improving at all. We need a Prime Minister who will stand firm & apply what dear old Winnie did... ...& it's also one for our resident Sir Humphrey to consider...... “Diplomacy is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.†... & one for "Call Me Dave" himself to peruse..... “The price of greatness is responsibility.†|

We need a Prime Minister who will stand firm & apply what dear old Winnie did... It's really saddening for one who fights tooth & nail to be described as an Englishman that he does not know his history! That was not Littlejohn but Sir Winston Spencer Churchill himself. |

OK fess up, yes of course I knew it was Sir Winston, and back in WWII, but not exactly where and when. So I had to look up the details. As I have stated in theses threads previously Obama would dearly like the UK to stay with the EU. For the US government can gain a certain amount of policy influence/direction through the back door via it's close connections with the UK. Fully understandable as this wish to have some influence on the direction of the EU will be severely hampered if the UK leaves. It's possible that Cameron's dithering over the saga of our EU membership may be down to a certain amount of pressure coming from America for us to stay in hence protect their interests to a certain degree. How much pressure?...don't know, yet is Obama resided now to the fact that his influence over the mater of the UK staying in is now not going to be sufficient to stop a vote on our continuing membership of the EU. More than likely as 50% of the country didn't vote for him in the 1st place, so just like Del-boy, they're cooking the books! |

Waking up at last? Tory MP takes forward bill on EU Referendum "He told the BBC: "It's about time the people had a say and this issue was dealt with properly."" However, "Houston, we have a problem"........ ......"Private member's bills face a struggle to become law and the Conservative EU bill is likely to be opposed by the Lib Dems and Labour". |

Doesn't say much for the current mop of muppets! Also shows those sensible enough to realise that should these muppets win a clear majority in 2015, there is no way in hell we'll get a referendum on Europe. Way to Go Nigel, keep turning the heat up! |

The Mail has been openly hostile to the Coalition government since 2010, therefore it is no surprise that they are giving prominence to almost anything said about UKIP. The anti establishment and anarchist folk are loving every bit of it. Careful there Boyo, when they get in, the secret police will be watching...... |

Promises, Promises "Government will focus on 'economy, welfare and education' in run up to 2015 election." Amazing how the soundbites come out in force heading to an election...... Iceland says NEI! Common sense prevails in Iceland at least! |

Well as the Euro trough is extremely large, it's about time we got paid for our votes! Lib-Dems = £1000 Labour = £5000 Tory = £10,000 UKIP = 6 pints & a monkey That's per voter of course! |

UKIP = 6 pints & a monkey Well they should do more of that as according to most polls taken this week, they are in 3rd place.... ...relegating your mob to 4th which is where they belong! |

...relegating your mob to 4th which is where they belong! Think it's you that should face reality. Just WHAT are the Lib-Dems but a fledgling party. UKIP are currently on 22% in most polls, but as you stated many times before: - A week is a long time in politics with 2 years being a lifetime. So be prepared for a massive shock come 2015. Just to upset you as you didn't like me gambling on the Olympics, I'm going to be betting a monkey that Lib Dems will end up 4th or lower - unlike you, I'm prepared to lose! |
