I downloaded .exe, installed it, added project but all the BOINC manager says is "downloading info from server" and nothing happens when i press update in project commands. My screensaver is the BOINC logo and "no runnning tasks". how do i run tasks? did i do something wrong or miss something? please help, thank you.

Nothing you did wrong.

Once your laptop finishes downloading at least one workunit, it will start running. However, you have both CPU and GPU work to run, and running the screensaver with GPU work processing is discouraged.

Depending on your system configuration, you could run as many as 9 units simultaneously, though on a laptop, you'd need to closely monitor system temps.
