Just a reminder of the rules: You try to come up with a family-friendly caption to the shot posted. Whoever posts the current picture is the judge of the competition: judging should take place 24 hours after posting the picture, or no later than 48 hours if 10 entries haven't been received within the first 24 hours. Any reminders to the judge should be sent by personal mail if necessary. Judges, please announce first, second and third place with a PM to the winner. Winner posts the next picture; if the winner doesn't respond in 24 hours, the second place is up, etc. Chat between rounds (judging has occurred, but the next picture isn't up yet) is allowed. |

Okay, here we go. We had some good ones this time around. An early contender was Steven Meyer with New York City. (but he lost points for saying New York) Honorable mention to Michael Roberts for knowing what it is: Chicago's city fathers deny plans to heat the object. A spokesman explained "The patches of snow make up for the missing reflected clouds." It is in fact Cloud Gate, more commonly known as The Bean, a prominent feature of Millennium Park in downtown Chicago. Honorable mention also to KWSN THE Holy Hand Grenade! for The world is my snowshed... Third place to John McLeod VII for the most unexpected take on it with We do carry personal hygiene products for all sizes, even the 200 foot tall woman. Second place to Blurf for "Anyone have a microwave big enough for this bratwurst?" And first place to Angela for The Mothership FINALLY arrives to take certain posters back home... PM sent. Okay, here we go. We had some good ones this time around. Chi-town was my second option but lost points for being, well, not New York City. [edit] Oops! I had better turn Boinc on for a while! (See my RAC) [/edit] [edit some more] Besides, it is more fitting in New York City where people will not notice a dead body on the sidewalk or a gang rape in the street unless it blocks the street enough to make them late to the opera, airport, or Starbux. [/edit some more] [edit the last] But, thanks for the mention n9jfe! [/edit the last] |

Okay, here we go. We had some good ones this time around. I considered that factor. Without it, you would have lost even more points. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |
