Over the last month my daily results have dropped from somewhere in the 170,000's to below 140,000's. Nothing has changed, same computers and number. I'm trying to figure out what is going on. Anyone have any ideas? |

Anyone have any ideas? RAC definition itself can slowly decrease (inflate). Unfortunately, in my understanding "CreditNew" RAC implimentation allows such process. What I've been noticing is more pending validation (waiting on wingman) units due to the difference between my crunch rate and theirs. And since the number validating per day is less because of this, the RAC drops. Now since I can't see how many and how powerful his hosts are in the grand scheme of things, I don't know if this explanation would be more or less likely. I have a single host and my RAC is in the 4,200 range and I've noticed my pending validation list has grown by 30% over the last week or so which is why I'm suggesting it. Anyone have any ideas? As I write this, your RAC is north of 156,000. It will come back slowly. The rule has been (for as long as I can remember) that RAC drops rapidly and recovers slowly. As others have noted, my pendings also have increased significantly over the last few weeks. I'm able to turn over my GPU allocations on three rigs about twice an hour during "shortie storms" (VHAR's), and that adds to pendings quickly, at least in terms of # of units. But it does all even out, over time. I had to take close to 3 months off from crunching. I've been back up at full speed for close to 4 months now, but I'm a long way from my RAC when I had to shut down. |

Also of possible significance is the drop in active users recently. It is beginning to pick up again but is well below previous levels. I think recent Seti problems caused a lot of people to abandon the project. BOINC Stats users overview |

OH NO, we went from around 151,000 to around 145,000 "active users" (received credit in the last month) over the last 60 days. The project is DOOOOOOOMMMMMEEEEDDDDD!!!! So less than a 5% loss, around 6,000, half of them my wingmen (well it feels like it sometimes), I'm not worried. We will always have drive by crunchers who sign up day X and last report day X+2. 30 days later they are no longer classified as "active". So how many of those 1000 that signed up 2 days ago will still be "active" in 60 days? 20? 200? "Life is just nature's way of keeping meat fresh." - The Doctor |

I think recent Seti problems caused a lot of people to abandon the project. Some might have just went to other projects untill Seti is fully up to somewhat running status. In my case if I have to run a backup, I run it untill all work is done. Edit- As he has his computers hidden, We cant see whats going on.
Old James |

Which is currently "1,820,466 (54.14%)" SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

I think a more important figure is "Active hosts". Which is currently "1,820,466 (54.14%)" Yeah but the graph for Active hosts is messed up so I have no idea if the numerical value is accurate and it's just a graph problem. I went from an 80ish credit per day rig to a 4,200 credit per day rig. My new rig is worth 50 of my old ones so as people upgrade, consolidate, obsolete existing hosts for more powerful/modern ones, even active hosts loses it's significance.
