running i7 3770k oc'd to 4.2
msi gtx680 lighting not oc'd yet as i just insatlled it (and got it for only 489 :) )

my cpu under 100% load is running between 43c and 50c depending on ambient room temp

since this is my first foray into overvlocking since (dating myself here) the 486 and p90 era i'm not sure of the target temps i need to keep my system from going into thermal overload. any help and advice i can get would be apreciated

Keep them below 90°c & things will be OK. Of course the lower the better, 90°c is the upper limit.

65 would be a good mark for the cpu. so your temps are good
