Wasn't sure where to put this, I just started using Boinc Manager again and its taking hours just to download 366.83k work units for seti, I have started working on other projects while I wait for these downloads to finish but I just wanted to find out if this is going to be the norm.

Since posting this I'm around 4 hours of downloading now for 22 work units, and there all saying about half way downloaded with a couple around 90%.

Also I know its not me I can download around 40Mbps

And if you went to the Number crunching forum you'd see the Windows TCP Settings - Follow up - Help with server communication thread which would enlighten you (I don't know why that thread hasn't been made a sticky yet). ;)

Cheers.

That is the unfortunate result af a lot of shorties (WU's that crunch very fast) having been sent out, and Seti's upload line being overloaded, so that DL come through very slow.
The TCP fix does solve some of it, but the problem is still there.

And then there is the fact that we are recovering from the weekly outage, which makes the demands on servers and bandwith even larger.

As long as Seti is as bandwith constrained as they are, the problem will persist.
