My dog, Gonzo, always walked without a leash. We had a perfect understanding...
It wasn't like that with my other dog, Sopor...

Gonzo, that's a nice name for a good dog, what type and sex was Gonzo? Hopefully He's not gone of course.

She died of kidney failure, 8 years ago. She was a crossbred Labrador, Flatgolden Retriever, Collie. Her name comes from that crazy drummer from the Muppet Show :)

Still a good name for a dog or even a cat, My favorite type too. Yeah I figured that, as I watched Sesame Street when I was younger, before the muppets became famous, Gonzo was great.

All mine have more conventional names - Poppy, Lara, William, Bobby and Corrie.

Poppy, is our Parson's Russell, and tends to pull on the lead and is easily attracted to other dogs, etc. I am not happy for her to be off a lead in case we lose her. I walk deep in the countryside.

Lara was kept as a breeding machine until we rescued her 18 months ago. She is walking well on the lead, and I think we might be able to let her walk lead free soon.

As to William, Bobby and Corrie - they are about 18 months old, and still skittish puppies, I think in a year or so I can also walk then lead free.
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

About 20 minutes ago, Baby jumped up and stomped on my lap, with a few plaintive "waaah"s. This means "get up off your ass and feed me." It does not mean "feel free to pet me or even scritch my head, neck, or chin." I get one warning and then bitten if I try.

10 minutes ago, he chased his tail. He's smart enough not to bite it when he catches it. Then he took a bath. Now he's just curled up on a towel on the floor, watching me for any sign of getting off my ass so he can remind me to feed him.

I had a BIG Black Cat named Baby, He was a short haired cat, He had cataracts and hip deformities, He went as far as He could and the hips would have cost more than I had, so My Brother had Him put to sleep as He couldn't walk anymore without doing the splits, ironically I know how much pain He was in now, now that I'm having hip pain, I have an appointment for the 14th for a followup. I was scheduled to do an ultrasound and I thought it would be external like I've seen on TV, turns out for Men it ain't so nice... No thanks, sorry if this is tmi.

My best friend recently put down his dog for the same reason, plus he was mostly deaf.

As for you, Vic, tmi would be if you told us just what it's internal to. I can take a guess, but please leave it there. (Although if my guess is right, I'd grit my teeth and do it. What I never want probed again is my stomach.)

Don't worry, that's why I stopped short of the target.

LOL, fortunately I don't have that problem, Grace is a hunter, not a lap cat, of course She may be missing out on a few bugs as I think I sealed off the last entrance some were taking into the small bathroom with some expanding foam in two corners above and behind the shower stall, now I may need to get some white spray paint to make My seal look like the caulk. On to lunch.
