Chocolate French Toast

That looks good too, but it's not the same thing as the previous picture. That looked more like a Monte Cristo sandwich with chocolate inside instead of meat and cheese.

Then there's this creation here, A Mayan Chocolate Shortcake... And it even comes with a recipe...

Chocolate Shortcake with White Chocolate Crema, Strawberry Lime Sauce & Strawberry Lime Salsa.

I want to know how to make that.

There's a chain of restaurants called Mimi's Cafe that serves a Pain Perdu breakfast - French toast stuffed with a mixture of orange marmalade and cream cheese, served with two eggs, sausage, and potatoes. One of the options is a three-berry fruit compote poured over the french toast.

Heavenly, even if you are not suffering from a hang-over....

Did you have to tell me that? I just looked them up and there's one right here in my town.

<must resist> <We are the Breakfast Borg. You will eat our Pain Perdu. Resistance is futile.> <sweet surrender... some day soon, probably>

I got a Mimi down the road too. Thomas could attest, it is not really my idea of a French Restaurant, but the food is great none the less. Oh and I like the price too.

When the Visalia restaurant first opened, the menu and decor were New Orleans/Cajun, but now they have gone more French. Their email ads open with Bonjour, ...
