Good Vic
I don't like to see mine rise eather.

Mines classified as severe, in the past it's gotten so bad as to keep Me up for a while, My mind would just run and run or that is go over what had happened earlier over and over for a while until I finally got too sleepy and went to bed...

Vic, if you regularly suffer from high anxiety levels, that is not unusual in this modern stressful world. Self managing stress is useful., otherwise I'm sure you could be prescribed some medication to help. Stress help

It comes and goes, I once rode in a VW bus and the things don't corner too well, not like it was in danger of tipping mind You, although at the time it felt like it to Me, or repelling down the side of man made cliff face made of plywood, some things I just avoid today. I don't know if it's connected to My low thyroid output or not, pills on that were tried to little effect, My body temp went up, the pills were essentially a dud otherwise. Night.

This you made the wise choice. I would not have stayed in it either.

Night Vic, but I'll let you into a little secret. Last year I was on a local double decker bus, that was being driven exceptionally fast by the driver, and leant over quite alarmingly around corners. Now I knew that the C of G of these things is very low down in the heavy chassis, and that the legal limit is 28 degrees, but they are tested to 38 degrees tilt with various loadings.

But I didn't feel safe and I got off and waited for the next one.

RM bus undergoing the tilt test for stability, Aldenham overhall works, 1978. The top deck is loaded with sandbags to represent the weight of passengers. All of the wheels must stay in contact with the platform as the bus is tilted to an angle of 28 degrees.

Just in case the eagle eyed bus spotter notices that the bus in the photograph is a Routemaster, no longer used on London routes. The test is still carried out on modern busses and the tilt requirement is still 28º

Both trains and trams have their own roll-over rules, not quite as aggressive as those for a bus, but still in the "quiet scary" category.

Whilst I cant win, I think just avoiding electrocution is a win!!

I was having a tidy up and deciding that there were far too many 4 way power strips. I have recently come by three industrial strips that are much better, as luck would have it I unplugged the old ones first, as I went to pick up one of the 4 ways it crumbled to pieces in my hand, to say I was surprised is an understatement. It one of those moments when you freeze in place thinking "I did unplug this, didn't I???!

It didn't appear to be burnt and just old and brittle. The pick shows what was left!! I suspect it was a cheap one. I shall be testing my others.

That is certainly one of the more extreme failures of those things. Glad to hear you found it before it started to emit its remaining smoke...

UL is a good indication that a power strip is a "good one", however over here we see any number of power strips that carry the "CE" mark (the Europan equivalent of UL), that fall a long way below what you or I would expect of a "good quality" strip.

Train ride win.

That's always a win.

There's more to going around corners and curves too fast than just tipping. I read once of a passenger on an Amtrak train with bi-level cars who complained to the conductor that it was going too fast. The conductor was sitting downstairs and didn't notice any problem... until he went upstairs. Everyone and everything was getting thrown back and forth across the car. He immediately got on the radio and told the engineer to slow down.

I also love train rides. The only disadvantage is the poor internet connection...
