Another Jazz legend is no more ... RIP. This seems to be a continuing trend here on the boards. I mean, tributes to passing members of our lives. I suppose, as our time grows near ourselves, this shall be even a more common occurrence. I have over 5,000 records....vinyl, if some young pups do not know. Vinyl. It would make a good Twilight episode if all those records started to vanish when the artists passed. I suspect my shelves would be rather bare then. Groups that no longer exist. Artists that have long since passed on. Since I have not caught all of the obits........... RIP, all of my long loved musical friends. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster

While we mourn their passing, we also thank God for the beautiful music they produced, and for the recordings tha allow us to enjoy that music long after the artist has passed on. For as long as their music is played and enjoyed, they live on...... I have about 700 vinyl LPs, and over 1000 Cassettes and CDs. While we mourn their passing, we also thank God for the beautiful music they produced, and for the recordings tha allow us to enjoy that music long after the artist has passed on. For as long as their music is played and enjoyed, they live on...... I was once enticed by a friend, because he was impressed by my vinyl collection, that I should somehow convert it to digital before I die. Even if I did undertake the project now. The conversion to digital of my comprehensive collection of albums would take years. More than I suspect I have left. There are certain gems I should undertake first. I have two virgin copies of Joan Baez's first album, on which has been tracked only one time. In the kitty archives. Bobby's first album......first release. A couple of re-release dubs too. Joan's first showing with the Runaways.....on a pretty piece of clear vinyl with the rest of the gurlz's pics. What some of you do not regard highly, but I do, Is that some of us are still in the search for the Lost chord. I shall go on searching for both the 'Lost Chord' and the lost citizens of our planet. Kenny Ball R.I.P That does not leave many from that generation. [b]One of my favourite for Traditional Jazz was Acker Bilk's Stranger on the Shore. It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues
