I remember with muted irony the episode where it was her 36th birthday and she was feeling middle aged. Valerie (whatever her name was) said "No you're not. Life expectancy for women now is 72, so you'd have to be.... oh." She didn't make it.

(I also remember one of my favorite Valerie Bertinelli lines. She and a boy had run away to Chicago and were in a motel room together. He was hinting that he wanted to have sex. She asked if he wanted to pretend they were married. He said sure. She rolled over in the bed and said "Not tonight dear, I have a headache.")
