Message 1376796 - Posted: 5 Jun 2013, 1:21:24 UTC - in response to Message 1376716.

When I look in the mirror in the morning I see my Dad looking back at me.
That man was very good looking.

When I was at my aunt's house after her husband's funeral last fall, at one point she pointed to me and said "That's what Paul [my father, her brother] looked like X years ago." I can't remember quite what the X was, though. If it was 30, that's pretty good, but if it was 20, that's bad. He was ~26.5 years older than me.

(If she said 25, that's a bit scary. I'd really like to live longer than 70.9.)

David

Going in the other direction....

A few years ago I was digging through a box of family photos looking for something I never found. What I did find was my 4th grade class photo, from 1961. My son (born in 1988) was in the back row, third from the left. It was scary.

I'm just about the most un-photogenic person on the whole planet!

Somehow I find that hard to believe...

Nah, that would be either Herman Munster who supposedly could stop a clock just by looking at it or maybe Me.

I felt old during my eldest son's May birthday. He was 43 last month, and my Baby (youngest boy) turned 37. Better, not to miss my daughter(who will kill me) for revealing that she has reached her xx birthday.

I know I am a coward ..............
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

You're still young for a man, Victor :)
Different with women though, they're called 'old' at 50...

Tell that to Barbara Eden, She recently put on the Jeannie costume once again, She works out 3 times a week and lifts weights, not bad for 78.

Still I would like to live up to one of My known ancestors age, 94, but We'll see.

it all depends whether you are talking old in appearance

I can only tell you that in my life I don’t remember ever meeting anyone who was truly ugly. I have always believed that there is a beauty about everyone.

How "old" you feel is a state of mind.

My father is 89 next month has had two wives, out lived them both and was in his garden cutting down a small tree on Sunday afternoon. He is quite active just problems with his eyesight frustrate him. We still discuss politics and set the world to rights.

I hope I am as active as him if I get to his age.

In the show, Herman would look at mirrors and they'd break, He wasn't bad looking, just that strange/exaggerated things would happen. But that's TV, it wasn't real.
