Not that I particularly liked all his music, but Kurt Cobain's daughter Frances Cobain is now a 20 year old model.

Wow I feel old.

It seems funny to see 1990, which was a short while ago, is really 23 years in the past ...

Indeed ... was talking to some of my Shipmates at the Vets' working party Thursday morning, and realized that on 31 August I will have been retired from the US Navy 20 years. And one of the guys there retired from the US Air Force two months after I enlisted ..... seems like only yesterday ...

The thing that starts me feeling old is my musical things.

I started out, at a very young age.

My grandparents on my Dad's side, immigrated from Germany.
When I was but a child, my memories were of tube radios pumping out oom pah pah polkas and zither rhythms.

I posted a number of cuts from a German beerhause a week or two ago that brought that all back to me. A bunch of rather young folks sitting around a brauhouse table sharing zither songs and german vocal harmonies.

I can reprise it if you wish.

I lived though one of the greatest ages of hifi music.
From tubes to the first bits of transistor technology.

I have posted much of it before, and I am sure it would bore most to death if I tried to post it again. Would take pages.

As Chaplain for 3 Veterans groups, I read the Obituaries daily in all 3 local newspapers. Yesterday (Thurs 4 April) I attended the burial service for a friend who was 4 years younger than me. In today's paper is the Obit for a man who was born 3 days before I was. Both died of cancer. People in my family tend to live into the high 80s and 90s so I probably have another 20-30 years ahead of me, but when I see folks my age and younger dying, it make me feel both lucky and ancient....

Enough melancholy. Off to breakfast, it's a beautiful partly-cloudy day here in Central California....

I know just what you mean
My father had his first heart attack age 53
My younger brother had a quad bypass aged 51
I'm 60, no heart attack, no bypass - who said it was in the genes?

Lawyers are the worst predatory species on the planet.
They have no skills, they produce nothing.
They have only one goal.....to make themselves richer by hanging onto the problems that others have.
They are maggots. Look the term up.

Yesterday was my grandmother's first birthday since she died. She'd be 94. Today is two years since my father died, which means 93 days from now will be two years since my mother died.

D*mn, I was feeling good a few minutes ago.

My father, now dead 20 years this month, used to look at the Obits to see which of his golfing friends he had survived .... The circle gets smaller and smaller with time ...

Folks think we walk about too much.
Folks thing he's not about too much.
People might think we're in love.

Don't thing we're about these days...
I know you have other ways.

People might say we're in love.

Dancing......
All around the bit.
Prancing....like we really hit.....

Sigh.

You know, no matter what you hear.
I know when I hold you near........

People might say we're in Loooooooooooooove.

Just a little theatrical presentation, my love.
