My parents claimed to have had a VW with those. I don't know, it was before I was born. The earliest car I remember is a blue 1963 Corvair. When it broke an axle, they traded it for a 1971 Vega, even though it overheated on the test drive.

The electric pump on a Morris 1300 needed a good kick every now and again to get the tick, tick, tick of the pump working. This was due to the mounting point, on the rear sub-frame exposing the pump to all the dirt, muck and water from the road ...

And I often find a 5% or 10% discount on restaurant bills, without having asked for one. So it's either the "US Navy Retired" pin I wear on my shirt collar, or they see all the grey hair and assume I'm over 65 (not quite yet). But I won't make a fuss, a discount is a discount. And I'll probably eat there again....

Yes, but .... <pause> ... stops before the hole gets too large.

The problem is that cognitive abilities slow after the 90th birthday ....

Julie is a friend, right now in My life that's good enough, at least for that. I can't even catch a break yet, but that's on a different subject entirely.

I almost never go to the hairdressers, I always cut my hair and the hair of the kids myself. Still, half a dollar is not much.

Runs me about $14.00 for a hair and beard trim.
I still have plenty of hair, but let's just say there's a lot more snow on the mountain than there used to be.
