On those rare occasions when I feel "old", I go visit some of my WWII-vintage shipmates & comrades - those in their high 80s and 90s that still get out and about - they call me "kid" and "youngster" and I don't feel so ancient.

Hey Don, I've always wondered, do you pronounce it "sub-mah-REEN-er" or "sub-MARE-ih-ner"?

Both are used, but each has its partisans. I prefer SUB-mah-reen-er, because I rode SUB-mah-reens, not sub-MARE-ens. But unlike some of my shipmates, I won't throw beer bottles or insult your parentage or education if you say it another way....

It is said "You are as old as the woman you feel" - I bumped into an 18 year old the other day, now does that make me 18 years old again??

I've no idea Chris, Grace hates collars with a passion, I can imagine that cat doesn't like that costume much either.

Someone put a small mini cam on a cat to see what our feline friends do in their spare time, the details are a bit gruesome to say the least, to say cats are natural dare devils is putting it mildly, their also hunters of extreme ability, birds and rodents beware, house cats might be smaller than lions, but so is their prey and House Cats have no natural predators of their own. Totally merciless...

Best recommended practice, keep Yer cats inside, the birds will Thank You...

As per the title of this thread I have just caught some of Cliff Richards "Summer Holidsy" film, repeated umpteen times on UK TV. OMG it is SO corny ........

Well, they ARE Cliff Richards...;)

If they go outside, coyotes can get them. They're getting to be a problem around here.

So will the squirrels, raccoons, possums, skunks... No doubt this is part of the reason the urban population of those is exploding.

Well exactly! But when I remember that I saw Gene Vincent live in the UK in the early 60's before he died, and the Who and the Searchers live in South London in the mid 60's, then I do feel old. Nice memories though .... wouldn't have missed them :-)

Or even the original UK band known as "the Animals"...

Never saw them live Vic, would have liked to have done. We queued for the Stones at Wimbledon Palais in 1964 but couldn't get in. I saw the Pretty Things, Yardbirds, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Didley, and Screaming Lord Sutch, and a lot of other bands on the London circuit in the 60's. Good times.

I was too young and My parents, wouldn't have gone even if the tickets were given to them, they were too tightly focused on their jobs...
