Bummer, I had always hoped this project would finally come to the science but it seems be politically correct is still the order of the day.... Still rationing work, if it were about the science this would be gone....And my video sits idle so slow machines can pretend..... Bummer, I had always hoped this project would finally come to the science but it seems be politically correct is still the order of the day.... The limits in place are because of a database issue, not because of any political problem, And my video sits idle so slow machines can pretend..... Your host with the GPU has it's 200 tasks, 100 for the CPU and 100 for the GPU, if it runs out of work it's because of the Shortie Storm we're in, and that's due to the schedule of whoever has use of the telescope at the time: Arecibo Observatory Telescope Schedule Claggy |

If you find them the money they need to upgrade the infrastructure, I'm sure they can hand out more work. As it stands, all the work that can go through the pipe and be handled by the servers is being processed in a timely fashion. There is already a large backlog ntpcr is due to look at, but the project lacks the manpower to keep both the project running and to look at new development. V7 has been stalled in beta for at least two years. Not much to do with politics. If you are alluding to whether we can get access to more bandwidth via campus - servers are already strained with the current load. Do you really think it's going to get any better if we could process double or triple the current amount?! Does it matter if we find ET tomorrow or in two years? If he/she/it is there to be found, we evetually will. He/She/It might find us before that though :D [and maybe already has. I'm not sure I'd want any dealings with this planet of ours. Now that's political ;) ] btw, welcome back. some minor editing for potitical correctness;) A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |

Personally I'm curious how you got over 300+ WU waiting to process on a CPU only rig. "Life is just nature's way of keeping meat fresh." - The Doctor |

Personally I'm curious how you got over 300+ WU waiting to process on a CPU only rig. Because they are using an older version of BOINC that doesn't report current tasks, or something along those lines.
