Help.. In the past when my bionic screensaver started after 15 minutes of not touching my laptop it would start bionic and the visualisations. Now all that happens is the bionic logo appears and it says, "BIONIC IS NOT RUNNING" or words to that effect. What has happened? |

Help.. In the past when my bionic screensaver started after 15 minutes of not touching my laptop it would start bionic and the visualisations. First, it is BOINC, not bionic. BOINC has several parts. boinc.exe is the daemon that controls which tasks are done in what order, and when to fetch work from which project, and downloads work and such. BOINC.scr is the screen saver, and it receives its data from BOINC.exe and from the applications running tasks. The message you see in the screen saver is caused by BOINC.exe not running. There are several possible causes for this. When you installed, what were the options you used? Have you closed the UI (boinc_mgr.exe) and told it to stop processing? BOINC WIKI |

Do you always just post in someone else's help thread? You don't just seem to have a problem downloading parts of the Astropulse application, you can't download Multibeam either. And there it's the Seti.jpg file that you're missing. The latter can be solved by going into your account, then onto computing preferences, edit those, and set Skip image file verification? to Yes. Save changes and try again. If you still have problems downloading (parts of) the applications after that let us know, preferably in a thread of your own. |
