Download and reinstall. Make certain that your data directory points at your data directory and your executables directory points at where you want the executables directory to be. The default location for the BOINC Data directory on XP is: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC. NOTE that "Application Data" is a hidden directory. [edit] This should pick up from where you left off... BOINC WIKI |

The reinstall of boinc worked but have a new problem . It has to do with 16 bit MS-DOS subsystem C:\Windows\system32\ntvdm.exe Error setting up environment for app. Choose Close to terminate app. Found one persons post about opting out of astro pulse and other things that take a long time to do. I have checked to make sure that my preferences are set to be opted out of them. IT only shows up when puter is working on the task here is a copy of the event log 2/25/2013 2:04:31 PM | | Number of CPUs: 1 2/25/2013 2:04:31 PM | | 670 floating point MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU 2/25/2013 2:04:31 PM | | 1083 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU 2/25/2013 2:13:08 PM | | Running CPU benchmarks 2/25/2013 2:13:39 PM | | Benchmark results: 2/25/2013 2:13:39 PM | | Number of CPUs: 1 2/25/2013 2:13:39 PM | | 664 floating point MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU 2/25/2013 2:13:39 PM | | 1068 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU 2/25/2013 2:43:39 PM | SETI@home | Task 23fe99aa.15852.785.342308.3.61_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file 2/25/2013 2:43:39 PM | SETI@home | If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. 2/25/2013 2:44:40 PM | | Resuming computation 2/25/2013 2:44:53 PM | SETI@home | Task 23fe99aa.15852.785.342308.3.61_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file 2/25/2013 2:44:53 PM | SETI@home | If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. 2/25/2013 2:44:53 PM | SETI@home | Restarting task 23fe99aa.15852.785.342308.3.61_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 512 in slot 0 2/25/2013 2:45:00 PM | SETI@home | Task 23fe99aa.15852.785.342308.3.61_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file 2/25/2013 2:45:00 PM | SETI@home | If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. 2/25/2013 2:45:17 PM | | Suspending computation - computer is in use 2/25/2013 2:45:26 PM | | Resuming computation 2/25/2013 2:46:00 PM | SETI@home | Restarting task 23fe99aa.15852.785.342308.3.61_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 512 in slot 0 2/25/2013 2:46:31 PM | SETI@home | Task 23fe99aa.15852.785.342308.3.61_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file 2/25/2013 2:46:31 PM | SETI@home | If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. 2/25/2013 2:46:31 PM | SETI@home | Restarting task 23fe99aa.15852.785.342308.3.61_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 512 in slot 0 2/25/2013 2:48:05 PM | | Resuming computation 2/25/2013 2:48:24 PM | SETI@home | Task 23fe99aa.15852.785.342308.3.61_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file 2/25/2013 2:48:24 PM | SETI@home | If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. 2/25/2013 2:48:24 PM | SETI@home | Restarting task 23fe99aa.15852.785.342308.3.61_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 512 in slot 0 2/25/2013 2:48:58 PM | SETI@home | Task 23fe99aa.15852.785.342308.3.61_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file 2/25/2013 2:48:58 PM | SETI@home | If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. 2/25/2013 2:48:58 PM | SETI@home | Restarting task 23fe99aa.15852.785.342308.3.61_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 512 in slot 0 don't know if that help or not the no finished file happened when I clicked the close or Ignore buttons well thanks for reading and any help that u can give dan |
