Seti@home had not succeeded in downloading for several months. Other BOINC programs are working, downloading work/uploading results, but seti@home is not. Before that all worked well for years. The BOINC Manager Event Log shows the following types of error (any text errors in the extract below will be due to my transcription from the log):

SETI@home 22/02/2013 09:46:27 Finshed download of O3aul2ah. 13609.7024.13.10.92

22/02/2013 09:48:34 [error] Can’t create HTTP response output file projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/setigraphics_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe
SETI@home 22/02/2013 09:48:34 Backing off 5 min 12 sec on download of setigraphics_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe

22/02/2013 09:49:11 [error] Can’t create HTTP response output file projects/setiathome.berkeley/libfftw3f-3-1-la_upx.dll
SETI@home 22/02/2013 09:49:11 Backing off 6 min 53 sec on download of file projects/setiathome.berkeley/libfftw3f-3-1-la_upx.dll

I am running Windows 7, AVG free antivirus. Any ideas of what is wrong and how I can fix it?

Have you been using Optimized apps? Using the GPU to process AP WU's?
If the answer is no to both then you probably just need to reset the project.

If yes then you are probably going to need to reinstall the apps.

Thanks for the reply.

I had reset the seti@home project a few days back, but that has made no difference. I am sorry but I do not understand the rest of your advice: How do I know if I am "Using the GPU to process AP WU's" and what is meant by "reinstall the apps"?

On the former, do you refer to the processor usage preference "Use GPU while computer is in use"? I do have that selected

On the latter, do you mean Remove seti@home and re-enroll through the "Add project" tool?

At one time, did you create an app_info.xml file, or install anything from lunatics? If not, then you are not using optimized applications.
