I guess my fav was the 455 Buick motor.
Had one in a '72 GS 455 Skylark, and a bunch of them in big ol' Electra 225's.
Used to turn the air cleaner covers upside down so's they could breath better.....and when the Quadrajet opened up the secondaries, man, did they growl!!!
Only problem is....I kept losing the #8 rod in most of them. They were notorious for not being able to get enough oil through the journals to poor old #8 if you got the RPMs too high for too long.
Most times, you just spun the rod bearing and it rattled like hell. Once, the rod itself did break and managed to raise quite a ruckus, what with punching a hole in the block and all.
