With no agitation, apprehension, consternation, fear, hesitation, or worry at all, could I refer my honourable friend to my previous reply.

The item is in its entirety

Not canning okay, but seems to be for immersing something in boiling water?

With your permission Ladies and Gents, I'm going to give this one to Julie. She pushed me to post another pic, it is as near as dammit to the real use of it, and she has the food correct. It is in fact an old utensil for hard boiling eggs 6 at a time.

PM sent.

That was what I was going to say after Gary's guess, but Julie beat me to it.

I am quite fine with that.

Ok. I think this one shouldn't be too hard. I won't be here anymore today but tomorrow I come and check what you guys have found.

What do we use this tool for?

[edit] It's the object on your right.

It is a potato ricer. It can be used to make incredibly fluffy mashed potatoes. It can also be used to rice potatoes to make gnocchi. I have one very much like it.

It reminds Me of an old fashioned popcorn popper that's used near a fireplace, as that's where a kitchen once was near, a fireplace.
