Oh come on Chris! That picture has only been up for 14 hours. It is far too early for hints. I want to make you all squirm for a day or so first, before I indulge you in a game of "animal, vegetable or mineral."

Oh dear. We didn't mean to offend. Eric was just teasing and I know there are a whole lot of crunchers out there who are fans of Xena and her sidekick Gabrielle. I didn't think anyone would take Eric seriously! And as an aside, I believe that innuendo is generally considered to be be "kid friendly" because it is supposed elude children.

Ok, ok, back on topic...

An antique Dodge City Cowboy Fanny Whacker?

Other than some kind of cheese slicer I don't even have a clue.

Not a pastry server and not a cheese slicer and definitely not an antique Dodge City cowboy fanny whacker. (The originator of that last posted suggestion has been hidden, but Eric and I can guess the author, and now we know what to get him and Kris as a housewarming gift...)

Ok, I guess it is time for a hint. The food one serves with this utensil is savory, not sweet. The food can be served both hot or cold, and to my mind it is quite tasty at any temperature.

Just so you all know, I haven't received any of those inevitable pm's from people who guess correctly but who don't want to win this round. I believe that this means that even the best of the very best guessers is MYSTIFIED!!!

Let's see now....savory, not sweet. Served hot or cold, but tasty at any temperature. And some of the kitties are fond of it, although it's not Friskies Pate'.

I think that could only leave one choice.
A fancy utensil for serving up sliced Spam.

Rofl!

You mean there was innuendo here and I missed it?!

Anyway... hold, cold, or in between, not pastry, not quiche, not cheese... I can't think anyone would have something so fancy to serve pizza. Are you summarily sweeping aside all forms of pastry, even such as baklava (never mind, you said savory, not sweet)? And cocktail wieners wrapped in pastry dough? Doesn't look suitable for egg rolls... Is it customarily served in portions the approximate size and shape of the server?

Lasagna?

Could it be pink salmon fillets?
I am sure the kitties might like that in lieu of the Friskies Pate'.

Not salmon fillets, in shades of pink
Although that sounds good, don't you think?

I'm trying hard to keep G-rated
Resisting words that might be hated

One clue I'll give, it's not for yams
Now just keep guessing, Ang I am...
