For squeezing / picking up a tea bag.

Finally! We have a winner. I don't have time to elaborate right now, but I will later.

Take it away, Bill.

You do know what an old term for a 'tea bag' is?
I don't have time to elaborate right now, but I could later.

Not a salad spinner.

Julie and John are headed in the correct direction, but not there. It has a proper name, for those in the know.

Elaboration: the page where I found it.

Returning to the new item: some kind of juicer?

One could probably make juice or tornados with it, but that is not its intended purpose.

What precisely was it used for.

Obviously one use is for large quantities but what? They look steam heated by the insulated piping behind. I don’t think it is a ship’s galley equipment for the table is not secured to the deck.

Maybe heated bowls for making cotton candy?

(I suppose kettle corn could also be made in a large hot vat...)

Correct. Possibly. Are you certain about that?

No. Nothing to do with cotton candy.
