Lori and myself watched Skyfall last night.
I think those across the pond can feel safe today.

I think it's been out long enough I don't have to issue a spoiler alert.

Sad that they offed M. But, she went out with her boots on, so to speak.

Q was a hoot.

And don't get me started about Ms. Moneypenny.

Aaaarrrgh! I haven't seen it yet!

I found Skyfall more than a little disappointing.
For starters i don't really like Daniel Craig's acting, to call him wooden is an insult to trees.
Secondly the plot is all over the place, it badly needs a coherent story arc. As it stands it's just a collection of scenes.
Thirdly, it's too serious. Bond films are meant to be a bit camp (by which i mean intentionally ridiculous and exaggerated, not gay). Skyfall just wasn't, it's almost like it was trying to be a Bourne film.
The third point was typified for me by one particular scene when Bond meets the new Q, who hands him his 'gadgets', a gun and a radio. When Bond says "is that it?", Q replies, "what did you expect, an exploding pen?"
YES! It's a bond film, it' supposed to have ridiculous and outlandish gadgets, rings that break glass, specs that show women's underwear, an Aston Martin with Skis, whatever!
I wonder if the writers were trying to create a film with more credibility than QoS, although in doing so they've thrown the baby out with the bath water.

Anyway, to get back to the original topic. I'll be looking out for this new series with interest. It has the potential to either be very good or utterly terrible. And no way of telling which until we see it.
As long as anyone involved in the 2004 film is kept well away, by force if necessary, it may yet come good.

'ello young Simonator, I trust that you are in exceedingly good health?

Yes I agree with you synopsis, sadly.

Never better sir. I've just had an exceedingly busy few months so haven't had chance to frequent this establishment.
