Just for info .. NV driver 314.07 WHQL (at least for GTX260, WinXP) has been published. Experiences? (I sticky with 190.38, because of my old hardware.) * Best regards! :-) * Philip J. Install went smoothly enough -- didn't have to reboot. No effect discernable on seti. However, its resizing exercise while installing didn't play well with my full-screen cygwin X window so I'll have to remember to shut that down in future before any updates. |

Not working too well in Windows 8. Upon shutdown of Boinc when lunatics x41zc optimized client was used the nvidia driver gets screwed in high dpc latency spikes. The effect is that whole computer stutters, mouse & redraw issues on screen until computer is rebooted. |

I always reboot as I have noticed sometimes the new driver isn't "seen" by BOINC. No problems here with my main machine. Going to do the other 5 later. |

Always I make a driver update/downgrade I uninstall always first the installed one. Fresh installation of the new one. So at least two reboots made. I would recommend a reboot also if you install over an old driver. Mark Lybeck wrote: Not working too well in Windows 8. Maybe decrease this value, because the app use 'better' the GTX680. * Best regards! :-) * Philip J. No problems here. I always use the advanced option to select what I want to install and also check the clean install box, and I always recycle the machine afterwards. I don't buy computers, I build them!! |

Does it do anything to speed up S@H? No not directly, of cause if you run a modern Cuda42 app with it then Yes. Claggy |

Does it do anything to speed up S@H? If it is better as you say with the Cuda app , then I am fixing to install it tonight ! Anything to crunch better , faster , and more efficiently . |

I take that back. My older Laptop is still getting errors on every Nv wu it trys to work. It works fine otherwise. I have Lunatics installed on it, so I'm not sure whats going on. It's funny (well not really)that the old Garage cruncher that is 9 years old has never had an error since I put it online. She's slow, but she does good. |

Press a key to resume from video off. 5. Nvidia driver restart occurs. The first time you recover from video-off you may continue to use the system, but on second time there may be GPU memory downclock to idle. User interface stickiness, mouse graphics redraw errors. Mouse dissapearing. Only way to recover is a reboot. 6. To raise the risk of something funny to happen start internet explorer. |
