Is there a way to hide the task bar icon for BOINC in W7? I know I can change the setting for notifications but the icon can still be accessed via the task bar if you click the 'arrow'. I believe there is an option upon install to deal with this kind of situation, correct? Do I have to re-install using this method or is there a setting I can change in BOINC or W7? I am fine with the program being opened via the program/start menu. Thanks! |

Set BOINC up to run as a service (This will have the unfortunate effect of disabling any GPU that you might want to use). Otherwise, start the BOINC core from the command line at login (I don't have the switches for this memorized). In the UI, uncheck "run manager at startup". ![]() ![]() BOINC WIKI |

The following will start the client, without leaving a command line window open: C:\Program Files\BOINC\boinc.exe --detach_console Jord Ancient Astronaut Theorists can tell you that I do not help with tech questions via private message. Please use the forums for that. |
