I was a young lad back when another US president said enough is enough and did the blockade around Cuba. The US navy used to show ship deployments On its websites. Not a peep now. So who knows what ships are there or are heading there. My guess would be two carrier stike groups. One on each coast. China needs to step up to the plate on this. They have propped up the little tinhorns over the years. Now the chickens are coming home to roost.
Old James |

Just look at the rubbish on their chests. Military medals are usually awarded for service in conflicts. So how many "official" conflicts has North Korea had in its history? Just because you stay at HQ and make the tea for the Leader doesn't entitle you to a gong. Oh well, in their Walter Mitty land it obviously does. With a bunch of military advisors that tell him what he wants to hear, to save their jobs, is it any wonder we have the current situation The one on the left is for brown nosing, the next one is for arse kissing, the next one is for ... cleaning, ... |

I just feel sorry for the NK people that have to live under the regime that they do. Perhaps they have never known any different, but perhaps it is time that they did. Hopefully without too many of them losing their lives to attain that. This is my thought too. Like some other places it will take a couple of generations for change to sink in. ... |

I can only reiterate my hope that in the face of all their increasing bluster, NK does not do anything the rest of the world shall regret. And of course, NK's own civilian populace. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Look at this pic. I served in the USAF for 8 years. My DD214 lists 4 medals I earned. Good conduct with bronze oak leaf, National Defense, Air Force Longevity ( for reenlisting ) And Small Arms Expert. Now my daughter enlisted in 96 and after leaving boot camp had more awards then I did. However after serving in Iraq I dont begrudge her them at all.
Old James |

North Korea has always gives the human one kind of mystical, closed impression. However, the North Korean leader Kim Jeong-eun seems to digital technology products fresh does not resist. In previous reports, we see Kim Jeong-eun's mobile phone, mouse, and in the most recent exposure, Kim Jeong-eun's office computer also appeared. Although not to take positive, but the media have pointed out, in a corner of the desk is placed 2011 apple iMac machine, but still in use a wired keyboard and mouse. |

It sure looks grim. But id like to know is how He can say all that crap and then not do it. I thought saving face was a big deal.
Old James |

It does appear as if he has backed himself into a corner and the paint is wet. If the other side refuses to offer any concessions, and why should we, then his face is destroyed. He will have to act or be seen as irrelevant. Not a good thing for a military dictator. |

I read that China has not had any form of communication with North Korea since late December due to North Korea's testing of atomic missiles. It only needs China to threaten North Korea now with a full trade embargo and North Korea will have to button it's lips up. If China feels that this "Ping-pong" business starts to look decidedly dangerous then we'll see China close the doors to North Korea until such times as they start to see sense. The trouble is Nick, that if China sidelines him he is mad enough to press the trigger button anyway. His generals tell him what he wants to hear, not the truth. I dont think his Generals are that stupid to start a war with China. And if they are they wont last long.
Old James |

Ah, does he truly then possess any atomic missiles or are his generals telling him a porky-pie??....so he just thinks he has them. It is amazing how crazy paranoia can make you. Especially when the general population would rip you to shreds if they knew the extent of your actions. Yes they are as crazy as he is, or someone would have already taken him out. |

Chris, that is their missile capability -- but as to the payloads they can load on them today -- something else entirely. 'Conventional' ordinance -- yes, no problem. Functioning nukes, not so much -- at least yet. Still and all, perhaps better for the world if NK does something really stupid sooner rather than later. |
