Escalators, since a child I've had a fear that the steps will break and I'll fall into the mechanism with terrible results. Doesn't stop me using them, but the thought is always there.

Aren't you suffering from lowRACophobia?

I am indeed. Eric and I needed to attend a family event this afternoon at my great aunt's house. I had forgotten about it until recently. That was the time I had hoped Eric would use to fix my computer. Oh well....

Maybe Eric has a fear of computers.

I rather imagine computers have a fear of Eric.

Related, again, to my weight, I fear that I will lose my balance and fall getting on or off an escalator, then get caught in it as it disappears into the floor.

Even the small amount of weight I lost last year made a big improvement in my sense of balance, though.

As a kid I used to see black shadows in my room at night. Really gave me the creeps...

I Truly Do think that I have Urbanophobia...I hate Large Cities. Every day on TV you hear of something bad happening in Cities. I even dislike having to take my Wife into Louisville to Visit Her Cousin or to go visit one of our Doctors.
I even went into Savannah, GA to see a Play one time and got Home to find a Bullet Hole in the Fender. And I've had other Bad/Worse things Happen in other Cities.

Sorry Jim, but I love cities. :)

I am not sure if this would qualify as a true phobia but I am not terribly fond of bats. Or snakes.

Best phobia ever!!

Girl scared to death of pickles

I couldn't help but lmao.

As for myself, I have a slight fear of heights. That's one of the many reason I became a pilot. Don't really have that rear anymore...unless my prop starts windmilling (only happened once in 14 years), then it starts to creep back slightly.

I guess that is a good thing Uli...But at times it makes it hard to be a regular poster.
Last week I lost an old friend to Cancer and was scared to even mention it here...I guess that you could call that Modiphobia.
We somehow have to moderate and insulate in an attempt to be fair.
I Try very Hard to. But in some ways I must have done so to still be in the position in spite of My Failings.

Zen Hugs,

The test of a good Mod is be open and friendly on the boards, but also have the ability to rap knuckles when necessary, in a fair but firm manner. It's always a difficult balance and not everyone's cup of tea. Fred is happy to keep you on, we are happy to have you, so what is there not to like about it :-)

I totally agree on the first part.

aichmophobia in my case a fear of knives. Hard to reconcil with my love of cooking, but might explain why I really tense up at the prospect of sharing a kitchen.

Here's one: taurophobia

Fear of bulls? Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.
