Your last reply demonstrates my point very well. Thank you. Now, please supply YOUR definitions of each of the four socio-political, or socio-economic words you list as being "sides" of a coin. I am not interested in what the dictionary says (I have looked them up), but what YOU "Intelligent Design" says. (A little cultural education "face" is the generic term used to describe the mainly flat surfaces of a coin, upon which are "coined", or "stamped", various impression to impart information about the origin and value of the coin. "Side" may be used as an alternative, particular in games of chance) Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

I believe some people are dangerously close to baiting ID. While their status does not preclude their also posting, still, I think the actions tread a thin line at the moment. What do you hope he will learn, or that you can learn from him, if anything? If nothing, then it becomes far harder to still to say he is not curently being baited. He seems to believe S@H, or UC Berkeley, have no rights to set up rules for the use of the S@H fora. To believe that he has not broken any rules. But, in the meantime, the rules are there and will be enforced. I believe he will be his usual self and follow his usual pattern soon enough, with no extra bait needed. |

I believe some people are dangerously close to baiting ID. And we will continue to wonder exactly what he is saying. |

I believe some people are dangerously close to baiting ID. Has he come here for a give-and-take in discussion? If so, let us all give and take. If not, then seek elsewhere. It is not difficult to find those who do not see eye-to-eye with you yet can *discuss* things (and in an understandable fashion). |

Soooo not reading any what was written here... Could we consider corporations socialist... follow me for a second. By rule a Socialist organisation uses centralized sites to distribute the services. Corporations use centralized places called warehouses to store their goods in centralized locations to make it easier to distribute goods and services. No, communist, the totalitarian state Marx believed would be necessary before true socialism, Unbelievable that the Free Dictionary reversed this. Thank goodness for my education at a private college. |

Socialism is all about society owning everything, or at least that is where its roots are. Communism is a controlling form of socialism - a body decides who can do, or have, what; but everything is still "owned" by everyone (at least in theory). A corporation is about a small body owning and controlling something, and then selling some of that something to others, but only for the advantage of that corporation. Any of various theories or systems of social organization by a government which was formally owned by the one or many owners called, private is the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy, is called socialism. Banks, GM, GE, and any other companies are example of such socialism, willingly or not. Full take over of all companies by the centralized government is called communism. Corprorate Government State--Fascism. So, we're on the right after all, and Obama is center-right or righty-right. |

Corprorate Government State--Fascism. No, I wouldn't say that at all. He has changed nothing nor is there hope that he will either. Must not conflict resolve by suggesting that someone should go sit on an ice pick... |

Corprorate Government State--Fascism. Probably, the USA does not even run a national health service for all of its people from conception to the grave, so it cannot be considered as socialist, as most other OECD countries do. |

Corprorate Government State--Fascism. What we had was insurance reform. Just drove up the price of insurance. LOL! Didn't do a damn thing to bring it down. And yes we can be thought of as socialist. ANY time the federal government hands out money to anyone for any reason other then work it is socialism. Must not conflict resolve by suggesting that someone should go sit on an ice pick... |
