Dispatching opponents (real or imagined) is a common tactic employed by those who dominate by fear, often in the name of "freedom", which should be read as "freedom for me to kill those I don't agree with, on the grounds that I label them as enemies of the state".

The definition you posted DOES NOT include the use of force/terror to suppress the populace, so you have extended the definition you gave.
You have extended your definition to include any of the totalitarian or populace suppressive regimes, some of which are avowed right wing, some of which are avowed left wing, and others (the majority in my opinion) are just plain nasty and have no specific political leaning.

I'll make no bones about it. Bush Jr. was bad and some would call right-wing. In reality he was not right-wing but center-left, he had to break the Constitution in order to save the Constitution---LOL!

Barry Obama is Left of left, he ignores the Constitution altogether.

Bush Jr., socialism light. Barry, hard socialism. We are just a few steps from Communism, full blown. China is happy....{smile}

I'd love to see the people owning their own resources and the means of production.
Who would better control the economy? The people, through honest and unbought politicians who are accountable directly to those same people, or profiteers working in secrecy in corporate boardrooms where citizens have no input or control in matters of the national economy?

You don't seem to understand our economy. We vote with our dollars. However, when the elected get together with the corporate boardrooms we get the word so·cial·ism. This started right after WWII with the word Fascism and a warning from Dwight D. Eisenhower about the Military-Industrial Complex.
