I haven't had a successful scheduler contact so far. Looks like the blue line on the Cricket graph has peaked and is headed back down. I haven't seen it that high for a while. I expect another hour or so of heavy congestion. and then maybe I can restock.

The web-site response has just got a lot better; either we've fallen below a critical threshold or some tweaking's been done. I'm having awful problems reporting still, except for one remote machine that's been able to touch base several times in the last hour without any intervention from me. Sadly, another one is not responding to my attempts to log in -- hope it hasn't gone titzup again, I only just got it repaired from an apparent mother-board failure.
[Edit] Strange, it's just reported in -- may have managed to pick up a new IP address from the DHCP server... [/Edit]

Thanks for the reminder. Be sure and use the e-mail you used for registering at Seti@Home when you fill out your online donation form. If you don't, getting your green star will take many contacts and a long time. My wife and I donated $100 about a month ago and no green star yet. I forgot what e-mail I used for Seti@Home and mistakenly used my business related e-mail on the donor form. Even with Uli's help, the correction takes a long time. Some of us may be in the same boat I am. I'll try to keep getting my green star, but realized that the University of California got back to us right away via letter and e-mail saying the money went to the Seti@Home account and acknowledging it. That green star is nice and a way of acknowledging a contribution, but more important to us is that we plan to make regular donations to Seti@Home and continue with our crunching electrical contribution in kind.

Even more important to me is realizing how close we might actually be to putting Seti@Home on firm financial footing with just a little consciousness raising. There is an incredible amount of upside for us. Imagine if only 10% of active participants in number crunching gave cash contributions averaging about $25.00 per year instead of the current contribution level of less than 1/10th of 1%. Seti@home would be on very firm financial footing because 15,000 of us donating $25 per year on average would result in roughly $375,000 per year in annual budget support. Wow, we have it within our hands to make this really work well. We just need to ask for help and make that request visible and noticeable to people who care.

What is with the HTTP stall that has been going on all month. I was hoping it would be fixed by now but WU that come come down are stalling so in order for me to start up the download again I have to shut internet down and restart it and away it goes again for about three tasks and then I have to do it all over again.
I was using a proxy which eliminated this problem but I cant find a proxy that works any more.

Uploads and report went fine (75 units), downloads are a bit stalled but that's par for the course after an outage.

Managed to upload tasks completed, but they will not report, 126 waiting to report, and I have not been able to download any.

keep getting:
SETI@home | Reporting 126 completed tasks, requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA
SETI@home | Scheduler request failed: Couldn't connect to server
Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

Hopefully will connect soon.

All OK here, all my crunchers managed to upload and report all tasks run during the outage at the first attempt. They are now downloading new tasks, albeit slowly and have almost refilled my quotas.

Might be worth stopping BOINC temporarily and doing a
ipconfig /flushdns
before restarting.

haven't tried "ipconfig /flushdns" yet, however all my completed units have reported, shortly after my post, and started to download about 20 units, although, still trying to download load, seems it is going to be a painful restart.

hmmm maybe I should post more often, seems to kick my system into doing something.

This doesn't happen on my Ubuntu machine. It's sitting right next to my Windows XP machine, plugged into the same Ethernet switch and downloads APs in one steady stream. The XP machine on the other hand, would be the epitome of frustration if it weren't for the Auto Retry feature in System Information Viewer. I've tried to connect the XP machine to Ubuntu via Firewire and see if that helped. Unfortunately I haven't been able to receive working internet out of the Firewire connection even after trying most of the 'easy' solutions out there. There is one complicated procedure out there I haven't tried, someday I might try it...

It's not a cure-all but has helped often enough that it's worth considering. On a Linux system it may be something like
/etc/init.d/ncsd restart

Always the way...

It's a new server that just went online a week ago; it hosts a few CentOS virtual machines for software development, provides occasional 3D modeling work, and folds in the background.

Here are the specs:

Cooler Master HAF XB Test Bench Case
KingWin LZP-1000, 80 PLUS Platinum Modular Power Supply
ASUS Z9PA-D8 dual LGA 2011 ATX mainboard with PIKE 2008 RAID adapter
2 x Intel Xeon E5-2670 8-Core Sandy Bridge-EP 2.6GHz, 3.3GHz Turbo, 20MB L3 Cache
64GB 8 x Samsung 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz ECC Registered Server Memory
nVidia Quadro K5000 Graphics Card, 1536 CUDA cores, 4GB GDDR5 Memory

Here are some images:
