Maybe if you didn't saw it already on the 1st page: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu.

Lab-wide Power Outage This Weekend (Feb 22-24)
Once again we are going offline due to electrical repairs in our entire building. We plan to come down Friday afternoon (15:00 local time) and be back up by Sunday afternoon (12:00 local time). All SETI servers will be unreachable during that span. 19 Feb 2013, 23:58:59 UTC

IIRC, the SAH lab is UTC -08:00.
This mean currently Germany is 9 hours before ..
This would mean Saturday 00:00 to Sunday 21:00 (MET).

In ~ 12 hours.

I hope my i7 gets its cache filled before the outage. When I looked a few minutes ago, it only had about half its limit In Progress.

I must be lucky...
The kitties have the rigs at about 95% of the limits.
Not that it will keep the fast GPU rigs going for more than a few hours after they shut things down.

Gonna have to run the furnace again this weekend.

It's just not my passion.
I'd rather leave the rigs idle and keep the kitties sniffing for the first hint of Seti to do rather than tie them up for a number of hours doing Einstein before they restart Seti.
The slower rigs will crunch some GPU work throughout the outage. The CPUs on all will probably maintain, what with the AP work they have cached.

I'll run the furnace if necessary and keep the rigs at the ready for Sunday afternoon.

Hello Eric,

There are allot of splitters down is this the reason
that I don't see any download apear on my screen?
I Hope to see something befor the site go's down
to repear the whole system....Please...!!!

Your task list shows 100 tasks in progress. That's a limit the project put in place to reduce the database load, you will only be able to get new tasks as you complete and report some.

If it's any consolation, many of the most productive hosts will run out of work long before the project comes back up Sunday. You're not alone.

Don't see any probs. Both my crunchers have nicely filled up to their max. and in case I don't make it there is some Seti Beta left on both so...

As I haven't recieved any AP's in over 2 days now someone should really look into the AP splitters jamming the system (I know it has been said many many times before).

Anyway, hope the system is back up and running by monday morning CET. See you on the other side ;-)

I agree, although in latter years, I have tried to be less aggressive.

I really think that all who participate here have a few more bucks to give.
It is up to them whether they wish to or not.

I've sometimes thought of suggesting that whenever somebody is thinking of specifically spending money on purchasing equipment to crunch for SETI, they should 'tithe' in the old-fashioned way - reduce their budget by 10%, and contribute that 10% towards the suppliers of work for crunching.

Not asking for extra money, or asking for money from people who are using equipment they would be powering up anyway - but if it's a special purchase, remember that you need life and equipment at both ends of the pipe for it to work.

Richard......bud.

I have tried for years on end just to chide some folks to give just a little bit to the project. Witness my many fundraisers. It just don't work, and I don't have a clue how to inspire them anymore.

After >boincstats.com/active/chart.png<, SAH have currently ~ 144,667 active user.

If every user would donate just $10 (min. donation) SAH would have $1,446,670.

After >setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_budget<, this would mean SAH can work ~ 3 years.

Or, could work 1 year and buy for $1,000,000 new equipment - and/or upgrade (speed up) the internet connection...

If not via cable (don't get more from the available 1 Gbits/s), maybe wireless, satellite or whatever...

Times are tough. Sometimes the most a lot of people can do is fire up the machine and crunch. Those that can donate I'm sure have. There are others that will when the opportunity arises. Everyone does what they can. Down-times will happen even if the project were to have unlimited cash flow; fix-it times would probably be reduced, and there may not be as many occurrences, but they would still happen. Let's give the people who don't show the little green star a little break here, folks.

Servers are back online, however, the usual hickups of uploading the massive pile up of completed tasks remain.

Btw, I have donated thrice in the past, but my finances do not permit me at present. Nevertheless, I am trying to whatever little I can by the use of goodsearch.

All uploaded and reported. Didn't count them, guess about 20.
Reporting did take some time.

Uploads working quite well, not sure about downloads as I've got a massive number to report and they are being somewhat stubborn...

Can you send a few to the west ;-) It's getting cold and it is snowing here.

Oh well, patience is a virtue.

Kudos to everyone who helped to get the project back online.
