AMD recently released their 13.4 drivers which comes with a new OpenCL driver, 1124.2.

Has anyone tried them yet with r1760 MB app? I'm still on r390 due to my reluctance to mix and match my driver packages since I was told the OpenCL driver that came with 13.1, 1084.4 was buggy with r1760. Basically it crashed with 1084.4.

I don't do Astropulse so please don't talk about the Astropulse apps to me, this is only about the r1760 MB.

The r176x MB and AP apps don't work with Cat 13.2 Beta, Cat 13.3 Beta or Cat 13.4 (they all use the same APP 1124.2 runtime, compilations would fail because of the compiler failng to work with the build option "-fno-bin-llvmir")

New apps that work with Cat 12.10, Cat 13.2 Beta, Cat 13.3 Beta and Cat 13.4 were released two days ago (Cat 13.1 should still be avoided):

Just to be crystal clear, r1817 will work with the version 1124.2 OpenCL driver. I just don't want to go through the mess that I went though the last time with all the refetches of GPU workunits, which I admit isn't as daunting anymore with the new big pipe.

Yes, it will work.
I`m running r1812 with new drivers.

Thank you.

I'll probably let the cache drain so I can also upgrade to the latest BOINC as well.

Are there any limitations on these Apps? Will they work in Windows XP with Catalyst 11.12? I'm currently trying my 6850 in Windows 8 with Catalyst 12.8 just to see if there is any difference between XP & 8. Even though the GPU usage in staying pretty much in the low 90% range with Win 8, the completion times are almost identical to those in XP. About the only difference is the card runs hotter in the Win 8 Host. I'll probably move it back to an XP Host with Cat 11.12.

This line, "For overflowed tasks found signal sequence not always match CPU version". Someone needs to tell the Validator about that. I'm so tired of just about every overflow coming up 'Inconclusive'. Now they've called in another CPU so it too can come up with 30/30 Exiting...

I have tested the new apps with Cat 12.1 (851.4) which is based on SDK 2.6 same as 11.12.
It ran fine.
So it should work.

Are there any limitations on these Apps?

They built with SDK 2.6 so drivers that 2.6 supports and up required. The single known exclusion is Cat 13.1 that not compatible. Its compiler produces garbage code and no workaroud found so far.

Nice. So as long as you use the last two AMD drivers that work with BOINC in XP you are good. Thanks for including XP in your new App.

What!? We get experience points crunching with OpenCL apps. Can I level up my Seti skill and crunch faster? :p

One shouldn't take XP support quite so lightly around here. From what I understand, someone around here is about to release software that doesn't support XP. As for Raistmers' new AP App, not only does it support XP, it also still supports my ATI 4670 in XP. Soon, you will see threads about missing XP support...

XP will be dropped for stock app. We can't load our undermanned SETI staff with support that AMD itself already dropped completely. They refuse to do anything (uninstall utility for example) for XP. As for HD4xxx btw.
So, we will try to keep XP compatibility while it will cost not too much. But after only already released binaries will remain...

When XP support is dropped, will we be allowed to Merge our XP Hosts to a different machine? I already tried to merge the XP from my Mac to a Windows PC, it didn't work. I will not be buying another version of Windows for my old Mac. So, I would of liked to have transferred the Host to a real Windows PC. Or even better, when OSX GPU Apps are finally released, merge my Mac' XP to OSX Lion on the same machine, that would work...for me :-)

You can not merge dissimilar hosts. However you can move your data to a new machine if you wish to maintain the machine ID.

Hmmmm, after a few hundred tasks using MB7_win_x86_SSE_OpenCL_ATi_HD5_r1817.exe, the App produced another Overflow the SETI Validator didn't like. Any idea what could have angered the Validator on this particular task?

Nothing to worry about, its an already known issue. Check the readme that came with the app, it reads :
- For overflowed tasks found signal sequence not always match CPU version.
