I am thinking… is it worth to crunch Astropulse for credit? Perhaps it was already reported, and the 100 was from a different task, Claggy

I am thinking… is it worth to crunch Astropulse for credit? They are part of the AVERAGE. You will see the 659 as a number only as an addition to your total credit. It takes a long time for you RAC average to rise. ____________

I am thinking… is it worth to crunch Astropulse for credit? I see...After that wu, I had a AP wu with credit 1,051.75.I should go 128+ but still 127+ . Tim ____________

I am thinking… is it worth to crunch Astropulse for credit? Maybe some older credits fell out of the calculation between the two updates because they became too old to include. It's a moving average, and at your crunch rate, older credits probably fall out of the calculation with most updates. My conclusion: Analyzing RAC can cause ulcers! As to your basic question of whether it is worthwhile to crunch Astropulse, I vote yes based on my observations with a less powerful host. ____________ Another Fred Support SETI@home when you search the Web or shop online with GoodSearch and GoodShop

I am thinking… is it worth to crunch Astropulse for credit? RAC is a time weighted average, a somewhat smoothed representation of credits per day. It's not useful to watch it that way unless you can pin down the time since it was last calculated (when some other task was validated). It is possible to use a single task to predict eventual RAC assuming more tasks with the same crunch time and granted credit. That Astropulse task took 1,867.99 seconds, so one GPU would do 46.25 like that per day. The 8 GPUs in that host would do 370 per day, and 370 * 659.37 suggests 243967 credits per day plus whatever the CPU contributes. That's not a practical scenario, but it does indicate that doing Astropulse on those GPUs tends to make RAC higher than it is now. Joe
