A lazy Saturday morning win, while I call the garage to get my car repaired.

Just got it back from a rather expensive service yesterday and it broke down last night *sigh*

It is sub zero temps in the midwestern US.
Sad to say, my '90 Olds Ciera does not like it much either. Starting it in this crap is a major issue. Crank a couple of dozen times.....crank again. Sputters.......starts. Something in the engine does not like it.......like a camshaft bearing, I think. Spins and then makes this noise like something without oil. Engine shuts down again.
Once it does start, the oil pressure guage does not come up for some time. I run synthetic oil, so this is really bad, kids.

Yeah bummer Andy, hopefully the repairs won't be too much.

We've had no end of floods here since the Summer of last year and my mechanic presented me with some wiring and a sensor of some sort covered in mud, sludge, bits of straw / hay. He asked me if I thought I was in a boat, not a car, as apparently I'm guilty of driving through floods that are too deep for the car and have sucked water and sludge in at some point. This has now corroded things and caused damage.

Bother! (Or insert non forum friendly word here!)

Moral of the story, if you want to/have to drive through floods, buy a 4x4 with a higher ground clearance!!!

Well I don't WANT to drive through floods. Neither do I WANT to be sand bagging my house every couple of weeks. My garage has been flooded since November and still is!

The real problem Chris, is that I live in the wrong country ;)

I think you stuck an unnecessary "r" in there :-))

Haha, nope! :p

California would be perfect new home to settle into. It's far enough way from my flooded county (no "r" :p).

California gets floods too. Just not very often.

The horses didn't want to get out of the barns. But, they didn't have any wiring problems :)

That's not a flood - It's a puddle ;)

I'll take my chances if it's only every thousand years there as opposed to twice a month here ;)
