I run my PC 24/7 and for some reason SETI will only use my GPU some of the time. It's not a matter of what else I am running because my system is always running. Most of the time when I turn on my monitor to do other work SETI is not using my GPU, other times it is. I have an Nvidia GT 430 video card with the latest drivers, 310.90. My system is an Intel I5-2500K @3.3Ghz with 16Gb ram. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Extraordinary claims require Extraordinary proof. |

I don't see any problems on the rig in question, so my best guess is it's just the luck of the draw that you've not downloaded any GPU work, just CPU work. Unless you've changed a setting recently, just be patient and it will sort itself out over time. |

I did not realize there were CPU and GPU types of work. That sure explains it. Thanks for the info. Extraordinary claims require Extraordinary proof. |

There is also a setting to use GPU while active. The warning is that many computers become sluggish when doing GPU work while also doing UI work. BOINC WIKI |
