Victor any bleeding from the rectum needs to be looked at ASAP. more than likley its from hemmerhoids. If it is that is easly treated. I know Ive had it done. But you still need to be looked at just in case it is something more serious. Dont ever fall in the trap that no one in the family ever had it. Colon cancer never happend in my family either, But my dad had it. Early detection saved his life. I know from my own expeirence that those kind of colon checks are unpleasant and uncomfortable. I do them every 5 years because I get polyps and they are or can be precusors for colon cancer. Dont bury your head in the sand and worry what might be wrong, get yourself checked out and be well again.
Old James |

Hoping I read in here today that Vic has hauled his ass (pun intended) off to the Doctors today... Ass soon as it's a little warmer(pun intended), I'll be going, after I've had a shower and nothing to eat that is. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Yes Victor! No if, ands or BUTTS about it!!! Illinois go to da hospital today, as soon as it's warm enough for the car to start, I don't have a cold weather car option, I doubt Escorts ever had a heater for the block, it's 30F(-1C) outside, plus I went to the bathroom and saw no blood and I took a shower, so I need to dry out, I know delay, delay, it's flu season, CA isn't as affected yet, but during the day there should be less of a wait. Vic, my friend, GO!!! Don't worry about your clothes; they've seen worse. If your phone is a concern, take the charger with you. You should do that anyway, in case you're admitted. (And don't forget it when you come home. That's the number one thing people leave at hospitals.) If you're bleeding or at risk for bleeding, you specifically want to avoid aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin/Advil), and naproxen (Aleve). Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is okay; worry about your liver later. Last summer, I had kidney stones. Since I'm also pretty heavy, they couldn't blast them with ultrasound, so they had to go in with a laser. Somehow this caused a hematoma (blood pool) next to the kidney. After being in the hospital only overnight for the laser treatment, I returned for two five-day stays, first for pain and then for weakness. While I was in the last time, I suddenly had a very bloody stool. They quickly gave me the gallon bottle of stuff to drink to clear out my system and took me down for a colonoscopy. They found an ulcer of the colon, probably caused by the hematoma putting pressure on the colon. They treated that and I have had no further problem. And I feel very lucky about that. They found nothing else of concern in there. The doctor said "See ya when you're 50." But, in each of the long hospital stays, they gave me two units of blood, four total. That's how anemic I was from the combination of the hematoma and the colon ulcer. (And I had an allergic reaction to the third unit. Uncontrollable shivering and shaking, even though I wasn't cold.) My hemoglobin is still not back to normal, several months later. Also, narcotic pain meds such as vicodin can cause constipation. In my case, it was an 11-day vicious cycle. I took the meds because my gut hurt so much from the constipation, and the meds just kept me plugged up. After I quit the heavy meds, it took about a day and a half to start going. The only good thing is that I lost about 50 or 60 pounds. Unfortunately, I've gained back 10-15 since then. (I put my scale in front of the fridge, but it hasn't helped.) I won't lecture you about what you eat, but seriously dude, if you eat stuff like those burgers, at least feel guilty about it. You know you shouldn't eat them. When I go to McDonald's or whatever, I try to limit myself to unbreaded chicken sandwiches with most of the mayo wiped off the bun. AND NO FRIES! I really do stick to that one (most of the time). But most important, GET TO THE ER ALREADY! You shouldn't even be reading this unless you've been there and come home again. Yes Victor! No if, ands or BUTTS about it!!! Vic stop stalling!! Its only 30 freaking degrres out. Cars up here in the north even with out fuel injection start at 10 to 15 below without a danm block heater. I happen to know a few men who have had rectal bleeding and blew it off. thinking ok I see no more blood, everything is hunky dory. Not True. In both cases the next time they had a bowel movement they started to hemmorage and it didnt stop. one was lucky that even though he passed out his wife clled an ambulance that saved his life. Your life is in your hands. stop being a fraidy cat!!!!
Old James |

My clothes are fine, I'm not one to worry about that. I'll be going soon and today, I'm more worried about how the temps effect My car, as in what the oil will do at low temps, since I use Royal Purple 5w30 Synthetic oil in the car. I'm now dressed, I had to find some decent socks that are unholy and that fit, 40 years worth of socks, I've been throwing out ones that don't fit anymore. I'll go as soon as I've got My shoes and a jacket on. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

AND 30 degrees is not freaking cold. After about 5 minutes of driving your car will be all warmed up.
Old James |

Vic, no excuses get your, and your A*** to either the doctor or the EA NOW. If I were nearer than 4000 miles I'd be breaking your door down with a sack truck in tow and wouldn't take "NO" as an acceptable answer. My car has 5W30 in it and I didn't even think about it at 12F this morning. Yeah, okay, I let it run for a couple minutes to let the oil thin out and start flowing, but big deal. It took longer than that for the windshield to defrost enough to see through. (The only time I really had trouble with a car in the cold was the night it was -28F. At sometime past midnight, I backed out of a friend's driveway, put my car in drive, and nothing happened. I had to wait several minutes for the transmission fluid to thin out enough to start working.) My feet were continuously swollen for years. They finally went down about three months ago, but swelled up again a little bit when I got Chinese take out. Now they're down again after (slightly) better eating. Ok, I just got home at 7:01pm PT, now right after I last posted I'd left for the Hospital, they made Me fill out a form, then hurry up and wait, then around 4:15pm PT they called Me in and after straightening out My birth date by 10 days, they took some blood and some samples from My rump, then I waited some more, the tests came back normal, so I have to get a referral to a GI for a colonoscopy from My Doctors office in Barstow... So for now that's it, Oh and the shoes were being very hard to get into before I left and I'd filled up Graces 2 bowls with dry food as I didn't know if I'd be back today or on Thursday.
