I'm only 46 and already starting to dread when I go on Medicare.

By the time I'm 46 (13 years from now) I'll be lucky if Medicare even exists. Might have to re-enlist or get my commission just to get sub-standard health care from military docs. Scary thought.

I get Medicaid, not Medicare, supposedly there's a difference, to Doctors for the moment one pays better than the other...

I'm about to go, see Y'all later on.

Yeah, I think Medicare probably pays better than Medicaid.

<shudder>

Ok after a brief nap, My body was tired, so I laid down in the recliner...

I went to the Doctor this morning, filled out a form, saw a nurse, She took My Blood pressure to make sure I wasn't a dead person, then I saw the Doc or at least a doctor, they gave Me a form to go to a Lab to give some blood to some Ghouls(snicker) and they gave Me a packet for a sample that I have to take back, they need both before I can go to a GI Doctor, I'll get the sample back asap, as it depends on when I have to go to use the bathroom, so the return to the lab will be on Monday, now I have a hole in My right arm to go with the one on My left since the Ghouls have made their withdrawal, well at least I'm balanced now.

Should make it fun. Put the "sample" in a black briefcase or "football", and handcuff yourself to it. Noting the number of very odd looks you get along the way.

Hang in there Vic. Sometimes cures are a
big pain, but dying is even more painful
for your loved ones and friends.
I had to cut down on the antivirals just
to get my oxygen levels up. The fun stuff
is that it means I have to delay our
vacation for three months, and I still
feel like hell. So like I said, cures
can be hard, but with people who love
you it means you have a responsibility
to do your best.

After completing My bombing run in the Blue Bird on the Dood Star, earlier I felt good, then after a nap, lousy, now not so bad, I'm eating dinner.

Thanks Celt & Bill.

Right now I feel weak and I have a cough, just breathing, a little more from My sinuses that drained to My throat and I'll be ok. Before I left I wasn't coughing. The coughing has stopped for the moment, I got what was in My throat out, I've had this problem since I was 3 years old, it's normal for Me.

Oh and the Lab when I got there, was empty of patients in the lobby, only the staff was there, two clipboards and I was done and gone.

I'm exhausted, and I dislike being weak.

I'll check in later I'm going to watch TV and/or a DVD, maybe another nap...

I've had a cough like that for more years than I can remember, too, but it seems to have diminished lately. Not gone, but a lot less.

I hope one of the things they're checking your blood for is your hemoglobin level. The last time I went to the hospital last August, I was having trouble breathing and felt weak. They said I was anemic and gave me two more units of blood. (I'd had two in the previous visit too.)

Yeah, some midichlorians would be nice.

As long as I'm not dying, at least I hope not...

I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like I wasn't getting enough air. I asked for oxygen and stayed on it for two days even though my saturation was running about 96% without it.

Well the cold might be a mild flu bug, I got a shot back in late October, maybe 62% immunity is all that offers, otherwise no, the lab has it's tests, as to the colonoscopy, I'll have to wait and see what the results are I guess.

Ok, from Worse to just plain Bad, I have a minor case of the Flu, that or I've become a Zombie with Brains, My right forearm hurts and last night I slept from 10:17pm to 5:09am with the floor fan on, I was sweating on My forehead, I do that a lot, I was tired and I'm having problems elsewhere, which I don't think are important, just par for the course, ugh, of course Grace is sleeping, I might take a 2nd nap and follow Her example. Once things are settled here and I get that appointment for the GI Doc, I'll go, I've got nothing else to do, so why not?

Vic,
I know this is the flu season, but given your recent history of anal bleeds I would be very wary about dismissing your current symptoms as flu.
I suffer from having a damaged kidney, which periodically causes me to bleed into my urine, now this isn't too bad, but every now and then this leads to a reverse infection, which has all the symptoms of "ordinary" flu, so I have been known to ignore it. A couple of years ago I had a bout of "flu", which turned out to be a reverse infection from my urine into my blood. After being dosed up with all sorts of anti-biotics and other drugs I made a good recovery, and spoke to the medics about the symptoms. Thy explained that with small bleeds it is perfectly possible for "infectious material" to pass from both urine and faeces into the blood stream. the tip they gave me was, if I've just had a bout of bleeding then the "flu" may actually be the result of being infected by stuff that should have gone out with my urine, and that the same applies with stuff that should have gone out with my faeces.

Don't delay the next stage of your investigations until you feel better, get them done quickly - I really hope it is "just flu" and not some nasty secondary.

Just like "real" flu - not "man flu", its the joints, head, cough, lungs feel stuffed/not working, not to mention that you you feel as if you could out-sleep Rip va Winkle having given him a week's start....
