Looking at your discharge letter I can see one major difference between the way the NHS in the UK and your medical system writes letters - here there would have been some description of the condition/treatment on the first page - which can be quite embarrassing, maybe we could learn something from the tact displayed in your letter.

Glad you're home, but follow through on the colonoscopy. I ignored my doctor's orders to get one for two or three years. Fish sticks and fries(baked) for dinner with a side order of Mercury possibly, eggs and sausage with some salt and pepper for breakfast and a sandwich or two, I will try and substitute chicken, even if it is more expensive, as I might have to buy chicken parts and freezer bags like My brother did, just to avoid the mercury, mercury can cause kidney damage, problem is My Mothers side has had heart disease problems, Grandma died of hardening of the arteries(It's on Her death certificate), Mom died of heart failure brought about by not having a pacemaker like Her sister had and after having beat cancer, then against orders the Hospital Staff revives a zombie, they'd let Her die cause She got Medicare.... So I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't, Y'all wonder why some people are depressed, that's one reason and the clock is ticking on Me, I'm a timebomb waiting to go BOOM.... ____________ BSG Anthem My Facebook page

Actually, it's not in the Constitution, but there have been some pretty strong laws passed about it in the last couple of decades. Sometimes those laws are a pain in the tuckus, but usually I end up happy about them. ____________ David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri.

I have short term memory problems, which the SSA calls concentration problems, so I usually say "about" as I'm never sure and sometimes paperwork will agree with Me and sometimes it won't, it's one of My disabilities and there's no cure for It, It made Me an excellent Army Marksman, If It moved within about 1150m moving or not I could nail it with 1 shot, I never missed, needless to say the targets didn't shoot back, with My problem My fear was getting killed. I once tried shooting at a stationary 1200m target, I aimed right, but the bullet didn't have enough muzzle velocity and so it fell about 1 meter short of the target below the target in the sand, So I was at the edge of the envelope for a stock US Army M16 rifle years ago, what matters is I have an Honorable discharge from the Army, Dogtags and the Marksmans medal w/Grenade, which I also earned and I'm quite proud of, but then so was My Dad the WWII veteran, He said not everyone is suited to Army life, He served from 1942-1946 from N.Africa to Occupied Germany, with stops in Sicily, Anzio and N.France(Paris France in fact, not bad for a Corporal), He committed suicide in 1993, He had Prostate Cancer and had not liked Doctors after WWII, He worked in what amounts to a MASH unit as a clerk, possibly a Company Clerk, think MASH 4077th or RADAR O'reilly, My Dad was recommended for 2 commendations on His paperwork to Allied and POW patients, I'm very proud of My Dad, whom I miss as much as My late Brother and Mother....

Hang in there Vic...I go to My "New" Doctor for the first time tomorrow and am hoping for better Medical Care because My Old Doctor seems to no longer care about People the way He once did.

my last attempt to find primary care was met with a physicians assistant who wanted to carve into me. In addition he did not want to listen to the information I was trying to give him, look up my history(same clinic) and in general was a pompus jerk.

Hang in there Vic...I go to My "New" Doctor for the first time tomorrow and am hoping for better Medical Care because My Old Doctor seems to no longer care about People the way He once did. Here I have a choice of 3 doctors: a GP a Family Practice(My Doctor, a walk in clinic) an Internal Med Doc And that's it, at least for the 1st level Docs, referral docs I don't have any idea about. Frankenstein of course isn't one of them, Yesterday after coming home My ankle decided it had enough and started complaining, it became painful, so I decided to wait until Friday, the walk in clinic on Main st opens at 8am, I may be there all day and I dread that, since I'm low man on the totem pole and I don't have much of a choice as to where a Medicaid patient can go... ____________ BSG Anthem My Facebook page

Not sure if you have gone to the doctor, Vic, as everyone is STRONGLY advising. But I repeat my advice from the second post in this thread ....

Not sure if you have gone to the doctor, Vic, as everyone is STRONGLY advising. But I repeat my advice from the second post in this thread .... I have to go in the morning to see My Doc about being Referred to a GI Doc for a colonoscopy, one in the USA can't just go to a GI(Gastro Intestinal) Doctor like one would with a regular Medical Doctor(an MD here) here in the USA John. ____________ BSG Anthem My Facebook page

My ankle decided it had enough and started complaining, it became painful, so I decided to wait until Friday, the walk in clinic on Main st opens at 8am, Its an acknowledged problem, Doctor induced as it were, so I really can't walk far as a result of the surgery in 2002 to repair My lower left leg by a For Profit Hospital with 3 expensive titanium screws, worth about $16,000.00 back then, the Hospital has a Reputation of not accepting any insurance or coverage that the hospital didn't sell and combined with Califonias limit on Malpractice and Statute of Limitations, of $25,000.00 max and 4 years respectively as I looked it up online, I could not sue at all from what I read, they wouldn't let Me call any of My relatives, just let the pain work on Me until I was begging to sign to make the pain go away, the nurse or whoever it was said I could call as soon as I signed on the dotted line, I was strapped on a damned gurney, so I never paid, ever... I let time run it's course, SSI is not garnishable by any judge, just wave a piece of paper under their nose or tell a collection agent that I have SSI and they gave up, I out-lasted them, it's now off of My credit record and I have a thinfile for a credit score... Mind You this was done against My will, I could not move more than My arms... ____________ BSG Anthem My Facebook page

My ankle decided it had enough and started complaining, it became painful, so I decided to wait until Friday, the walk in clinic on Main st opens at 8am, The more I hear stories like this, the happier I am with my insurance. I can go see a GI doc or any other specialist if I want, without a referral. I'm only 46 and already starting to dread when I go on Medicare. ____________ David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri.

I'm only 46 and already starting to dread when I go on Medicare. By the time I'm 46 (13 years from now) I'll be lucky if Medicare even exists. Might have to re-enlist or get my commission just to get sub-standard health care from military docs. Scary thought. ____________ **Check out my wifes cupcakes**

I'm only 46 and already starting to dread when I go on Medicare. I get Medicaid, not Medicare, supposedly there's a difference, to Doctors for the moment one pays better than the other... I'm about to go, see Y'all later on. ____________ BSG Anthem My Facebook page
