The installer for the optimized apps has been withdrawn pending resolution of a licensing issue, so you won't be able to install them until that is resolved.

I may be wrong, but if you had saved your installer package on one of your hard drives, you can still use it to intall the _x41g app. If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

Cliff - you are correct, if you have an existing copy of the installer you can run it.

What you cannot do is download a new copy of it. You never used Google, did you? ____________ .

As I understand it, Lunatics may not offer the applications, or suggest ways in which they may be found elsewhere, until the licensing issues are resolved. The issues are to do with the compiler used to produce the apps, not the optimised application itself. To quote Joe Segur, "The question is whether compiling with the Intel compiler and some Intel libraries violates the GPL2+ licensing provisions". If you have an operating installation then you have no problems. If you have previously downloaded a copy of the installer then as an end-user, I believe you are in the clear.

Anyone have the optimized client install laying around?

Anyone have the optimized client install laying around? Boinc is the client, why would you want an optimised version of it? to manage what the project applications are doing faster, no need. Claggy

Anyone have the optimized client install laying around? There were optimised clients, once. Do you remember boinc-5.3.12.tx36, by Trux? That was good, in its day.
