Hello everyone,

I hope everyone's New Year is off to a great start. At least we know the hyper-inflated media hype of the Mayan calendar was wrong, or we were instantaneously transferred into another reality that is exactly like the last one.

As always, words can barely express my gratitude for the volunteer service that our Moderators involve themselves in. I am truly honored that I have been consistently bestowed with such great people to be a part of the team.

So without further adieu, I would like to thank two of our longest standing members for their diligence, dedication, leadership and support of the team and SETI@home. Uli, an outspoken member of our team, and active in SETI@home fund-raising efforts; and Julie, never afraid to be proactive, always diligent in watching over the forums. For the extended service they have provided, a very big thank you to the both of you.

Joining the ranks of the team and a fresh face to the forum is Ex (Dave #2) and Clive, our resident Number Crunching and Cafe goer, always happy to lend a helping hand. Please give them a warm SETI@home welcome.

Thanks,

-Fred

Congratulations Uli and Julie on some relaxation! My condolences to Ex and Clive!

Then in another Year both will be Ex's, although in the case of Ex, that might be an Ex Ex? Congrats or something to both Ex and Clive.

Oh and as John said thanks Uli and Julie.

Great service and Kudos to uli and Julie.

Clive and Ex, I pity you.

@Fred, you can't shouldn't edit the forum moderators post in http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=68723 Shows last post 184 days ago and no new post. I assume you want to draw attention to the change ... in which case you should have made a new post, edited that to change the title and hidden the old information.

I assume the attention would be drawn by the indication of the last update and not by the last post date. It seems to work reasonably well given the number of views it has increased since I edited the posts in that thread.

Thank you Julie and Uli-belle for your service to this project. Uli-belle, especially, has served long and worked so very hard for us all. These forums would not be possible without our wonderful volunteer moderators.

Ex and Clive, welcome aboard and thank you too!

Many thanks to Uli and Julie, who along with the rest of the mod crew have done their best to keep a lid on me when I needed it.

Best wishes and large dosages of patience sent out to the 'new kids on the block', Ex and Clive!

Hellow all,
Some of the `welcome` messages make me wonder what i have let myself in for :¬)

I got myself a 23" widescreen HD monitor in december,
Will this make the job easyr to see or the problems bigger,
Maybe i should use my 8" tv (with vga socket) can`t read a thing on it.....

I should also like to formally put on the record, my appreciation for the service that both Uli and Julie have given to the Seti Project as Moderators. Uli has performed her role faithfully for many years, in addition to leading on fund raising. Julie, continued to serve despite personal tragedy. I wish them both well in their new found relaxation.

I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Ex and Clive, who I am sure will bring their own brand of expertise to the Mod Squad. Perhaps the ratio of male to female members is not now as equal as it was, and which I think used to work well. I hope that that might be addressed in the the next rotation in the future.

Thank you Chris and all others. Yes the ratio is not great, but us Sheilas are ready, when Fred needs us again.
