Had this show up on my timeline this morning and thought it was rather "cool". No pun intended. I swear!

This certainly quite another approch to cooling a computer!
I very much like the idea! (Although Water-Cooling may be simpeler
and just as effective).

The exhaust area seems pointless. Having another fan drawing air out would probably increase efficiency. Why exactly does he have those bars on the inlet and exhaust towers baffles me.

Perhaps another material would be better suited to reduce noise. He used acrylic panels for the PC portion. Perhaps doing the same for the compression area would further reduce noise

Bafflers for the sake of aesthetic effect? ;-)

I suspect the aim was for superficial aesthetic effect rather than trying anything clever with the Venturi effect. Also note how the exhaust is blocked due to location.

OK... So it does look different and extravagant! Steampunk next?

All good fun!

The exhaust area seems pointless.

It would make things much quieter than not having it there.

Having another fan drawing air out would probably increase efficiency.

But i doubt it would be enough to justify the extra power consumption.

Why exactly does he have those bars on the inlet and exhaust towers

It looks pretty.

Also note how the exhaust is blocked due to location.

Moving it further from the wall would probably have little if any effect on it's operation. Moving it closer would.

Aesthetics. From the article:

The aluminum braces with steel tubes that are on the top of the intake and exhaust sections are decorative.

Incidentally, I have one of those Logitech keyboard + touchpad units and it is excellent for controlling a home theatre PC when the IR remote won't suffice. Much easier to use a touchpad on the couch than a mouse! My only complaint is it's starting to get a bit creaky after six months, but that's cheap plastic peripherals for you.
