I'm really glad that picture isn't any bigger than it is.

I'm still trying to figure out what it is. Looks like crawfish or similar.

My first thought was cucaracha stew.

I was thinking the same thing - except in English it is cockroach stew.

That might have been my fault. Sorry.

38 years in the Plumbers and Fitters. You won't believe what some folks will try and put down the toilet (loo).

We snaked 100 feet of sewer line outside a sorority house once. It was blocked by used condoms that had inflated.

I had a sewer line that was not connected to the sewer system correctly. The platt showed the sewer line running straight out to the street, but it was actually tied to the sewer line that ran next to the house. Prior to the occupancy license being granted, the inspector realized that the sewer line next to the house actually ran under the house - a no no. The inspector said move the house. The deeloper offered to move the sewer line instead. The sewer line was moved, but the connection from my house connected into the portion of the sewer line that was cut off between the man holes where the bends were placed. A couple of years after I moved in, the downstairs toilet backed up. I could not get it to flush. I called Roto Rooter and they used a sequence of heavier and heavier equipment until we ended up digging up the sewer line from my house to the old tie in and discovering the problem. This also dumped quite a bit of raw sewage into the soil under the yard. The grass really was greener, but the fly population was quite heavy for a couple of years...

Sounds like the story an ex-boss told of her summer house. Bought it new. The developer never connected the sewer! Now how did the permits get signed off?

In my case, the permits were signed off because where the developer said the sewer line went did not match reality. I suspect something similar in the case of your bosses summer home. Final inspection is after the dirt has been put on top of the sewer and water lines.

Final inspection should be before the dirt covers stuff up, at least that's been My experience.

Reminds me of when I let one rip under the covers and then fan the blankets so the wife can enjoy. I never knew she could swear like that:)
