Possibly the best bass singer on the planet.

What you 'don't know' is that he requires a special microphone to handle his lower octaves. Sennheiser did a one-off special for him, a wonder of their ribbon mikes. The standard ones they offered did not have the range required.

I know this as a fact because I used to be a recording studio tech.
I owned a studio.........and the Oak Ridge bros came there once.
Sterban carried that mike with him. I plugged it in for him.
He 'didn't leave home without it'.

Such things are NOT widely known.
