@Chris - I remember them from nursery rhymes and elementary school, but have never had them. And that darn tool looked to me like it was made of metal. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

@Chris - As they have been all over Southern California since I was a wee one. Van de Camp's seemed to be the big brand and is in all the supers around Easter. |

@Chris - My mother used to like them, except that she didn't like any of the ones available in the grocery stores. She finally found a recipe to make her own, and then she skipped the cross and kept a stash of them in the freezer all year. Every morning, she'd get one out and nuke it for breakfast. A couple months ago, I found a leftover bag of them. I never liked them and they were horribly freezer burned, so I tossed them out back for the critters. OK I stand corrected. I never heard of them but clearly others did. |

In France pizza comes with an egg in the middle on request. Turns out I liked it but I will not do it at home. LOL! It's called a capricciosa used to be available at my local Pizza Express, but now days they have to use a hard boiled eggs due to problems with raw eggs. Pity they were a favorite of mine. |

Now that pizza looks like it was cooked on a pizza stone and or pizza oven. At home a stone is the only way I know to get a pizza to come out like the one in photo. [edit1 - add more comment] With dark well done crust/bottom and the top done just right but not burnt like some of the bottom crust. ... |

In France pizza comes with an egg in the middle on request. Turns out I liked it but I will not do it at home. LOL! A quick search online suggest this is probably not best tried at home, you need the temperature of a proper pizza oven (550ºF) plus the airflow. One reason Pizza Express stopped was the concern that eggs might be infected with salmonella bacteria and not cooking them properly could cause food poisining. I don't think there were any actual cases form eating an under cooked pizza but the precautions stuck. |

I tried it a couple of times and ended up with a burnt pizza with a raw egg in the middle of it. Their insurance company probably made them change. I did get one suggestion to do it as close as possible to the top of the oven, which I plan to try soon. Count to 10,000 to 20,000 # 19a in the thread Here needs a picture with a number in the picture. Due to the copyright issue, may I respectfully suggest the "count to thread" is abandoned. Also the higher numbers make it difficult to post interesting pictures. Just my thoughts. |

Then someone may as well close the thread(Count to 10,000 to 20,000 # 19a), as trains have numbers on them, without them, there's less of a valid reason to play and that is a proven fact... The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Response to Beets Caption Message ID 1366913:: I'm glad I'm not the girl — or the goat — in the immediately prior shot! It's of course frustrating when someone has the same caption idea but posts it a bit sooner! This time is a bit more interesting because The Holy Hand Grenade had the same basic idea as me but chose exactly the opposite realisation of it! I was thinking of: It's not fair: I would have liked to milk the goat! Such a similar premise that I won't enter this, perhaps I can think of something else... |
