Shiny new thread, please continue. And if it isn't obvious, say which game your post relates to. There is a specific thread for discussing the word link game.

Julie, I think the page you found for your first photo mus-identified the location. See http://www.betterphoto.com/gallery/dynoGallDetail.asp?catID=FAV&photoID=5348400 It isn't a river but a lake.

This is something all posters need to be aware of when they pick a photo of a place they haven't been to. Make sure your source is correct.

Vic, I think the snow covered peaks are the Sierra Nevada. I know that isn't the answer you are looking for though.

So what happens now with the kitchen tool thread?
Seems Grant is having some problems posting a pic.

Julie, but maybe Grant needs to bite the Bullet. A Dune Finkleberry got an PM from me years ago, asking him to teach me the finer points of posting.
Most of it was done via PM, but trust helped and a phonecall or two helped.

I explained him several times how to post a pic but I get the feeling he really doesn't get it.

Or he may not want to agree to photobucket's TOS.

I don't think that's it. Although he could always try another image hosting site like TinyPic or Postimage. Personally I think Photobucket is easiest to work with though.

I am going for a weekend record. I won a pun battle last night. I won the Mystery Kitchen Tool contest and also the Mystery Landscape contest this evening. I think I have a strong bid in this Caption Contest round, and here's hoping for that lucky number in TLPTPW!!!

Perhaps I should buy a lottery ticket too...

It didn't work on the subway, and it won't work here.

I thought one of the rules of the "Count to thread" was that the number had to be visible!!!

Since people have asked where the picture was from, it was taken from this tower

And the train station is a bit off the top of the ridge.

Responding to KTHHG's Beets entry:

Someone finally told me that this was a boxwood, not an African Acacia...

Clearly acacia mistaken identity.
