Winning while waiting to see the snow. Lastnight RAF Scampton recorded -11C (12F), and it stayed at -4C all day. No problems starting the car, and have done so at down to -20C.
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

I repeat, Wimps!

They don't even start plowing here until it's 2 inches.

They'll never plow here as there are no snow plows!

Plenty of gritters about on the roads tonight, which is next to useless if snow falls.

Forecast is for 6-8" here tonight/tomorrow, which to be honest, with no snow plows, no winter tyres, no snow chains & very few people with experience of driving on snow, will just about cripple us. (You can guess it's a very infrequent event here!)

I'm thinking a lot of it will thaw as it falls, as it's still rather warm and the snow is only an hour away and things won't be so bad as the Met Office are telling us currently.

Plowing? Who plows?

Posting at 3.83GHz, I tried for 4.0GHz, the Bios goes to 21, but Win 7 x64 only goes to 20, I do need a faster i7 cpu...

Won't be taking the car anywhere today anyway :( The early snow froze into a sheet of black ice and now several inches have already fallen on top and it's coming down in sheets still.

Still posting at 3.83GHz, according to what I've read online the top safe no worry temp is 70C, I'm at 64C sometimes, at 80C though things get warm and above that could be really bad... To get to 4.0GHz will require some really fast G.Skill 2133 ram with some loose timing... And I know just the type too...
