I don't agree with your premise that men can't help being rapists.

So you claim 100% of men can control their biologic mandate 100% of the time.

Of course society requires it, but society requires no one drink and drive.

Spoils of War.
http://news.yahoo.com/dozens-yazidi-women-sold-marriage-jihadists-ngo-142525440.html
Beirut (AFP) - Several dozen Yazidi women kidnapped by Islamic State jihadists in Iraq have been taken to Syria, forced to convert and sold into marriage to militants, a monitoring group said Saturday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based NGO, said it had confirmed that at least 27 Yazidi women had been sold for around $1,000 each to IS fighters.

The group said it was aware that some 300 Yazidi women had been kidnapped and transported to Syria by the jihadists, but it had so far documented the sale into marriage of 27.

"In recent weeks, some 300 women and girls of the Yazidi faith who were abducted in Iraq have been distributed as spoils of war to fighters from the Islamic State," a statement said.

The group said it had documented several cases in which the fighters then sold the women as brides for $1,000 each to other IS members after forcing them to convert to Islam.

"The Observatory documented at least 27 cases of those being sold into marriage by Islamic State members in the northeast of Aleppo province, and parts of Raqa and Hassakeh province," the NGO said.

t added that some Syrian Arabs and Kurds had tried to buy some of the women in a bid to set them free, but they were only being sold to IS members.

And there we have the problem in a nutshell.

You'll give your daughter advice on how to avoid being raped (probably forgetting to warn her that most rapes are perpetrated by someone the victim knows), but it hasn't occurred to you to talk to your son about consent.

Stop trolling ES !!
In that post I was talking about "Safety First" for both.

The advice I gave both my sons on treating women with respect and care was not relevant to THAT particular post.

but it hasn't occurred to you to talk to your son about consent.

Surely having to do that shows you haven't raised the son correctly in the first place.

If you think you are the only influence on your son then you are living in a vacuum. A son will hear the daughter being warned that she risks rape by being drunk at a party. The implicit message in this is that a woman who is drunk at a party is asking for it. This is the hidden message that sons get every day. If you do explain to them that a drunk woman cannot consent to sex then you are by definition not raising your son correctly in the first place.

Likewise, I would appreciate it if you took the time to read AND UNDERSTAND what I post before firing off one of your automatic responses. You don't have to agree with what I say, just understand it.

Rather than making a flat statement about a situation of which you have absolutely no knowledge, you could have framed it as a question which I would have been quite happy to answer.

To be honest, I find it quite insulting that you would assume, point blank, that I had never discussed this matter with my sons.

I would warn both sons and daughter of the dangers of getting drunk, most research suggests young drunk men are twice as likely to be in danger as young women. But I would suspect this figure considering we know a lot of rapes are not supported, but then again do all men report attacks.

A disgusting & worrisome update: -

Labour Home Office probed over B-Liar's Government

"At the same time, it is now known that a Home Office researcher was conducting an investigation into trafficking and underage prostitution by mainly Muslim gangs in Rotherham, but it was never published, and the files were seized in 2002 by the Labour-run council when she tried to blow the whistle. The researcher faced intimidation by the police and council officials, the report by Professor Jay revealed last week."

Indian "elders" to blame yet again for:

Indian girl 'humiliated' by village elders found dead

The semi-naked body of a teenage girl who was allegedly humiliated by village elders for protesting against her father's harassment has been found...

... Police suspect the 15-year-old girl in West Bengal was raped and murdered. ...

... a day after a village court had summoned her and her farmer father to settle a dispute over a tractor.

Her family members told the police that the elders "threatened the girl with dire consequences" when she protested against the "harassment of her father" by the village court.

Villagers said the girl "disappeared"...

A better culture needed sooner rather than very sadly yet continued more of the same?

Will you warn your son that a drunk woman may not be capable of giving consent? Have you ever had that conversation?

How to attack a woman who works in video gaming - On Thursday, it was widely reported that the North American media critic Anita Sarkeesian had fled her own home, thanks to rape and death threats from angry gamers targeting her and her family. Her crime was to produce a series of YouTube videos analysing the depiction of women in games from a feminist perspective.

Its such a shame. I generally think her videos are quite good, if perhaps a little one sided from time to time. Its ridiculous that these whiny little manchildren are so insecure in their own sexuality and masculinity that they go to these ridiculous lengths to make games into some male-only space. Seriously suggests they have never grown past the 'girls got cooties' phase.

Celebgate: it's not the internet we need to fix but men's squalid behaviour

"There is abundant evidence that large numbers of people behave appallingly when they are online. The degree of verbal aggression and incivility in much online discourse is shocking. It's also misogynistic to an extraordinary degree, as any woman who has a prominent profile in cyberspace will tell you."

Oh dear, another 1. :-(

http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/joelle-lockwood-freed-after-being-held-in-wooden-cage-in-indiana/story-fnixwvgh-1227052577720

A STRANGER has come to the rescue of a woman who was kidnapped and held in a cage for nearly two months with hardly any food or water.

Joelle Lockwood, 30, went missing on July 9 this year, after she was captured by Ricky House Jr, 37, and Kendra Tooley, 44, of Evansville in Indiana.

Lockwood, a mother of two, was lured to their mobile trailer home after he saw her walking in the street. He gave her a lift in his car. She was later allegedly gagged with chloroform, stripped of her clothes, and locked in a wooden cage, Tristatehomepage.com reports.

Lockwood was recently rescued by Ronald Higgs, Tooley’s ex-husband, who was invited to the trailer one night.

Unbelievable!

Do politicians & the slimeballs within local authorities think people are that stupid?

MP seeks law

"Over that period of time not one member of the public came to a surgery of mine, not one local councillor asked me a question, either in my political group or in full council, not one local MP in Rotherham raised the issue or a case of CSE for those five years."

Yet we see this: -

"The report by Professor Alex Jay detailed how children had been subjected to trafficking, rape and other sexual exploitation over a 16-year period and how their abuse had been ignored by a range of agencies, including police, councillors and council officials."

For anything to be ignored, it first must come to the attention of those that ignore!
