I have a Nvidia GPU in my computer but yesterday I got a message that my computer can't find the GPU anymore, it just vanished!! I tried to restore my computer to an earlier date, but it didn't help. What can I do?

What exactly reports that the GPU isn't found anymore? The operating system, or BOINC?

When I want to go to the Nvidia Configuration screen, the system tells me there's no GPU detected and when I go to my account here and open my computers, it shows no more GPU. I don't think it's a problem with boinc.

Could still be a problem with drivers. Try to clean them out first, using something like Driver Sweeper or Driver-Fusion.

Tried Driver Sweeper. First installed Java and then the Nvidia driver scanner couldn't find any GPU on my computer...Getting kinda desperate...Maybe there's a malfunction inside of my computer but it's a laptop, it's kind of hard to open it and look inside...

I tried to detect and install the driver on the Nvidia website but it couldn't find any GPU and it was here a few days ago! Could there be something wrong with the wires inside my computer? I know what to do inside a desktop but a laptop is a bit difficult for me...

If you right click "Computer" then click "properties" then select "Device Manager" what is displayed in the "Display adapters" drop down?

I tried that as well and my GPU doesn't show anymore. It only shows Intel (R) HD Graphics.

The problem is, laptops are so hard to repair. Don't know how to open it and work on the wires. Just tried to manually install a new driver, didn't work as well, the program couldn't find a compatible device. I really think it has something to do with the wiring.

|
Unlikely to be the "wiring" as the GPU on a laptop motherboard is jut a chip on the board there is no separate "wiring".

I can't find it. It's like the GPU just vanished. Always get the same message: the driver cannot find any compatible hardware...Also looked for disabled hardware, nothing...Tried to restore my computer to an earlier date, also doesn't help.

Did you try to delete the Intel graphics driver and reboot and see if windows then picks up on your Nvidia?

Did you try to delete the Intel graphics driver and reboot and see if windows then picks up on your Nvidia? I don't dare to do that...Could end up with a blank screen and I can't afford missing my computer...You think windows would pick it up? ____________
